I was finally served after months of been separated. She moved back home she initiated the separation and after 6 months finally filed and I got served. She’s coming after the house that I’ve been paying for the last year completely. I did all the paper work while she slept and help with zero in the process.

She helped by paying utilities and internet bills. But as soon as she left she stopped helping with those bills. I took up on all the bills own my own which include mortgage, maintenance and utilities.

My question is from guys with this same experience, is there any cards I can have against her? Since she abandone the home and stop contributing to it? I already have a lawyer in place and we’ve been talking but I’d like to have different options when this things boils down.

We have no kids and only married for 5 years. The entire time we were married I was the main provider while she finishes her masters. She’s en route to graduate soon. And she’s clamming she helped me get to where I am today but I took care of us while she got her life together. I never got to reap her college degree.

Lawyer said I could potentially claim I supported her through her school so I may be entitled to alimony. I don’t want to screw her over but she’s after everything I’ve worked for and I want to put a brake on the situation if possible. Her lawyer is coming after my house and probably half my assets. Any advice on how to proceed is much appreciated.
