I know the book has been referenced here before, but I just wanted to share my thoughts and feelings after finishing Robert Glover's "No More Mr. Nice Guy." I don't know if those of you that have read the book feel the same way, or not.

I felt like I was looking in the mirror about 80% of the time reading this book. Lately, I've become a little more aware of my dysfunctions, and have taken steps to address them, but in terms of habitual behaviors, childhood patterns and experiences, and relational dysfunction, it was spot-on.

To be clear, I think the issues with my marriage transcended anything a male self-help book could do. But I think if I would have discovered this sooner, I might have made the decision to divorce sooner.

I think the book gives the basic building blocks for how to be more assertive and confident without being an obnoxious asshole, which is something I always tried to avoid personally, as well as people. I think for a long time I was more passive just on the premise that I didn't want to be perceived of as a "douchebag." I'm still learning how to be assertive and confident in a healthy way, and this book has helped clarify it.

Curious to hear your thoughts from those of you that have read it, or done any of the workshops or associated exercises or programs.
