Hmm I don't know :) I think it's just general attractiveness that makes men & women more friendly.

Femininity in a woman does coincidentally make us more attractive overall, but I think if you're put-together in pants + flats (sandals or sneakers), you will still be treated nicer than someone who might be wearing skirt + heels but otherwise plain or even disheveled. Some women can really rock a t-shirt and jeans.

I am noticeably given a lot more attention and courteous exchanges when I've been "dressed up" with more makeup for an evening out. I might be wearing pants, but maybe paired with knee-high heeled boots. I become really self-conscious as this isn't my daily experience.

I've experienced this too, but I think your overall vibe is part of it. If you're wearing a dress+heels and have your makeup done, but you come across as hard and pissed off, people won't be as inclined to treat you better.

I've also noticed that little kids tend to stare at me more, and if I coo at a baby while walking down the street, the parents will usually smile back or say thank you. Children especially are wired to respond to femininity.

People treated me far better after I lost weight. I went from a US size 6-8 (so not even that big) to a size 2-4 (so quite small) and suddenly everyone was my friend. It actually made me quite sad as I’d only lost the weight through illness.

For sure. Dress like a lady and most people will automatically treat you like that. Same thing with guys. If they’re attractive and in a suit the world falls at their feet.

I've found that long hair, dresses and skirts gives people the impression you're old fashioned and that would explain the apologizing for cursing in my opinion.

You can still look feminine in a chic way, form fit jeans button down shirt ect and you'd probably get attention but not people assuming you were old fashioned as it's a more modern look.

This seems to happen to some women, but I've never experienced it. Maybe it's because I live in the Midwest, and dressing up here means wearing your "nice" jeans. When I was really into skirts/heels, I often felt overdressed and out of place.

But! Being out with my young children does make people treat me very kindly! I've never experienced so much positive attention in my life until I had kids. People will smile, say nice things, let me go ahead of them in line, etc. It's like motherhood gave me a halo. 👼

100% true. I switched jobs recently and work in a warehouse. Think hot, close toed shoes, etc. I spent a lot of the colder days in sweatpants and leggings. Lately, I’ve found that I can (safely) wear shorts and casual dresses. I’m working on having a more professional attire (this is a transitional job for me, and my last job had a set uniform) even though I don’t work with any customers and am usually working alone in the back sorting packages. The men at my job are SO much more friendly. Even the owner (it’s a smaller business) has gone from grunting at me to speaking words to me.

I think it is not really about what you wear but how you treat people. I bet you have a good personality and that's why you are likeable.

But in my culture, a lot of men like feminine women. In my experience,i only met 1 guy that like masculine type.

Part of it is in Western culture, especially the US, no one bothers to look presentable or dress up anymore.
