I've got a radical feminist co-worker and she is constantly insulting, generalizing and hating on men. I asked her exactly that and her response was basically "I don't care, they aren't good allies anyway"

They aren't supposed to be reconciled, or even reconcilable. The idea is that you self-immolate (in the Randian sense) in an attempt to gain their approval, but never, under any circumstance, actually get it.

The reason for the distinction between 'feminists' and 'allies' is to create a hierarchy. Allies are subordinates who support feminists. Just do a search for "how to be a feminist ally" for plenty of examples of feminists telling allies to shut up and do what they are told.

Being male doesn't make you a man.
