Everyone is pickier online than in person.

As a swinger, I did a lot of "online dating" so to speak and my conclusion was that in person people look for reasons to say yes, and look for reasons to say no online.

The reason it'd be creepy for you, as a teacher, to hook up with your 17-19 year old students is, in part, because your age and the power you have creates an imbalanced relationship. It can be fun for a teenager to fantasize about a relationship like this because it's fantasizing about being seen as an adult, as an equal, by someone who is definitely not their equal.

What I'm saying is: the hot girls in your class being attracted to you has very little to do with how they see men in real life and very much to do with the fact that you are a man rather than a boy. If those same girls were your age and knew you in real life, they would not have the same reaction as they do as teenagers in your class - even if they were interested they'd be way more normal about it, lmao. You are comparing apples to oranges.

You have to understand that situationally, you have power and authority with your students. But you are probably not able to convey this in your online profile. So what students are seeing is limited by the context of you being the hit older teacher whose approval they want. The majority of men are really bad at their profiles. Head over to s/Bumble and browse till you see some of the guys review requests. Take a peek and you will figure out what they are doing wrong and what your competition looks like.

In person you get a better idea of what the person is like. It’s easier to FEEL which is what you want when dating.

Online it’s just cold, hard, facts. Feels about as romantic and sexual as a job interview.

Yes, but also it the fact that youre a teacher. So compared to other teachers or kids from their class you could be the most exciting thing to focus on. Also you have some authority and are out of their reach which can make you seem more attractive.

Teacher= status at school, you are an authority figure women like that in any situation. So its not just the in person thing at play. Also younger chicks are WAY WAY easier to get (not predator shit) I’m meaning I got the majority of my n count when I was 16-19 dealing with the same age range they used to leave notes for me in my backpack 😂

I don’t think that it’s as much that they are pickier as that men just have a lot more competition on dating apps. There was just a post about how gender skewed dating apps are, and the highest value men invariably use dating apps because they are like a combination of a buffet and fast food for them, but with sex involved and not food. So even somewhat high value men are losing out to very high value men.

It’s best for men to go to places where the skew benefits them. The more women there are compared to men, the better men will do.

2) when you fill out a profile, you reduce many facets of your life to mere statistics. Told, too young, too short...all "reasons" to swipe you away.

2b) sort prospective dates by height and only look at top 10%...see where this leads?

The hot person not swiping on you is a good indicator that you guys aren’t in the same league.

If you are only matching with “lower quality” people then that’s your league.
