A friend of mine shared his f’d up story with me yesterday about his exw. Apparently she got pregnant by her BF who ran away from her when she told him and decided to put her exh’s name on the birth certificate without his knowledge so she could claim child support. His wages just got hammered. He’s now looking at large legal fees to get his name removed with little to zero chance of getting any money back. He hasn’t slept with his ex for over 6yrs now and lives in a completely different area of the country, hundreds of miles away from her but the agency didn’t bother to even confirm anything with him, just garnished his wages verbatim. She refuses to confess to the agency and excused her lies as “you promised to support me in our marriage vows”, even though she cheated an left him over 5yrs ago. His lawyers are dealing with it but he’s looking at 6months of wage reduction until it can be sorted. In the meantime this loss means he cannot afford to cover his expenses and has had to turn to family and friends for support. I’m beyond disgusted by both her and the states behaviour in this illegal fraud but know that there’s literally nothing a man can do to stop this madness from happening.

Anyone else have this happen to them and any advice I can pass on to him?

Edit: yes they are fully divorced and have no children between them. He’s also had a vasectomy so cannot father children. He has applied to the courts for a DNA test to disprove paternity. He has been advised by his lawyer that he should be prepared not to get any of the CS money back and that the only option is to sue her directly for the money She’s broke so again, no money will be recovered.
