Hello friends.

Before you tell me how dumb this was, just know I already know now and have been kicking myself every day.

About a year ago my parents sold their house in one city and wanted to buy one close to me and my kids. My parents are pretty crazy and they constantly threaten each other to divorce and sell the home. I'll spare you the details. But they decided they can't handle being on the title of their new home and just gave the cash from the sale of their old home to buy their new home under my name. So I did.

When I bought it, it was placed under my name as a married man but with this home being a sole and separate property.

After my wife saw that I'm paying the association fee and taxes, (not mortgage, it was all cash) She complained and said to place the home under our trust for now. I needed her support with dealing with my elderly and sick parents so I agreed.

Well now she's divorcing me and is saying my parent's house is half hers. We are both just starting the process of lawyer shopping.

What do you guys think on if she'll be able to get half that home, even though it was bought all cash from my parents.
