As in, you think this was a different in the past? Nah.

Women always were the ones pushing this idea, from the time men are babies women do it. The "cry it out" method is far more frequently applied to male children. Men are taught that crying doesn't solve their problems intentionally from a very young age.

The perception that other men enforce it comes from 1) women who refuse to take accountability and 2) men who know the problems this will cause, and are trying to help the emotional man, and 3) simps who've mistaken women's sexist bullshit for reality.

As a corollary, woman/feminists/society say woman are more emotionally intelligent than men, yet part of emotional intelligence is the ability to identify emotions AND control those emotions. Yet stoicism, a predominantly male trait, is considered toxic even though it aligns with emotional intelligence.

I too was fooled by the myth that women are the more emotionally in-tune sex. In a way, it's correct, but you have to check the fine print: women are in-tune with their own emotions.

If I'm trying to have a romantic relationship with a woman, why would I do something that has a high probability of turning her off? Especially something that's generally avoidable.

Yeah its funny in an ironic way. It used to be they would always say they wanted men to open up to them. But when we do they act like we are commiting some sort of crime. Then they wonder why we do not open up to them more.

My grandmother, bless her southern soul would mock men who cried. Funnily enough, my father, her son, cries like a baby whenever he gets worked up and for good reason usually. By that I mean in expected circumstances, deaths, times of extreme struggle. I grew up seeing this and so, I don’t think it’s wrong/unattractive for a man to cry I guess. I thought my grandma’s attitude was just an old school southern thing until I came to spaces like these

While we here bitch complain discuss men's issues in general or even personal issues, this is more or less a safe place to get feed back and advise. I've never seen anyone here say it's ok to cry or be overly emotional.

As a man what purpose does being weak overly emotional crying serve? How does being weak or emotional help solve any problem you face? IT DOESN'T!!!!!

Like it or not, we as men must strong both physically and mentally. We don't have the luxury of showing emotions or weakness.

Why would you want to show weakness especially to a woman? I get it life sucks, youre tired, frustrated, fed up we have all been there or are there. What does crying do to help you fix your shit? Alot of us here can help or offer advise, it's you that must put in the work.

The term "Real Man" comes from your grandfathers, who got it from their fathers, who got it from their fathers.. back into the mists of time. It has ALWAYS been a concept in EVERY CULTURE and was used BY MEN to aid in the training of boys to grow up to be men.

edit: A "man" is an adult male therefore bullies, rapists etc are men too. A label is needed to promote the right ideals therefore "real man".

Some of the qualities include; - Have Integrity. - Be Stoic. - Provide and Protect for your Family. - Be the emotional rock for your family. - Stand Up for what is "right".

Real Men are the only defense society has against FF and one of feminisms great triumphs is the destruction of the term. Which is why the had to kill the "nuclear family", the very breeding ground for Real Men.

You young guys arguing against the term "real men" have been indoctrinated so well by the feminist dogma that you're actually helping feminism.
