I think it's really critical for men's advocates to stay level-headed in discussions on gender issues, and this highlights that fact. Stick to addressing the issues in a reasonable manner. Don't turn to hatred, spite, bitterness, or sarcastic mocking. It just doesn't do any good. I remember seeing a post recently, I think it was a screenshot from 4chan posted on here that included something about "hating feminists".

I don't hate feminists. I don't think they're evil. I don't wish them any ill will. I don't want to silence them.

I just disagree with them. I'm not shy about this fact and I'll readily explain my reasons, but I won't ever get into the attacks of "feminazi!" or "mangina!" because it's silly, childish, pointless, and counter-productive. It only makes them less likely to seriously consider any criticism of feminism, and more importantly it pushes away on-lookers who are on the fence. It does nothing but make a real discussion of the actual issues impossible.

Should be a reminder that everyone should be given a fair chance to voice themselves on men's issues, and you shouldn't jump to assumptions just because they sound like a caricature of an uber-liberal tumblr kid.

edit: Also don't get deluded that MRAs don't do this. You have to seriously stand up against abuse if you want OP to be telling the truth. Case in point:

You would think that calling for the castration of men, or saying that men should have their penis cut off, or that they should die, is violent. But it is not, because only men can be violent. Only womyn can be reduced to mere objects. /s

I only want to point that out because there are so many articles out there where the author talks about how only men can be violent, and then immediately demonstrate the opposite by calling for harm on males with impunity (This article is not one of them).

Growing up (26m) the only verbal and physical abuse I witnessed was caused by a woman against men and other women. I can't count how many times I watched my mom curse my dad out, throw dishes/telephones at him, not counting the numerous fights she got in with her "friend" down the street, who was just as crazy as my mom. Not saying my dad was a saint, but I never seen him hit my mom, he took quite a beating before he would tell her to stfu.

I've been harassed by the feminist subreddit /r/justpost before... Apparently one of their members was a gonewild poster and they flipped shit when I asked why she was hating on men in there... But was posting naked photos online.

From what I've seen there are a lot of really chill feminists... And then there are people who say really stupid things and behave like pricks. Maybe it's because the feminist movement is so large? It just accepts crazy people.
