Ok it's official, GWW is the gateway drug of the mrm. Most people I have talked to have stated that GWW was the one that opened their eyes to this. Myself included and so was she apparently.

Wow.

So she responds with a video to the amazing atheist, trying to correct him with the NAFALT argument. She got was (Can only be) a huge fucking backlash and criticism, from one of the most abrasive viewerbases on all of youtube.

What does she do about all of this anger and critcism she gets thrown in her face? Denial? Claim misogyny? Claim that she's the newest example of a victimized woman like Anita Sarkeesian or Rebecca Watson? Did she go hide in the corner?

She quietly, logically, and carefully evaluates everything they write - and tries to UNDERSTAND their anger and critcism rather than condemn them for it.

No wonder she doesn't consider herself a feminist anymore. She was too strong and compassionate to be one all along.

In case dawnofcha0s ever reads this. MR does not want you to be shocked, or scared to speak. You don't need to apologise, be horrified, or feel that you humiliated yourself. All MR wants is a better deal for men, not being blamed, vilified and attacked. If you aren't trying to prevent that, MR has no issue with you.

Feminism does try to control and limit the thinking of people who follow it. It's a good thing that you saw through it and were brave enough to make a video about the fact. Unfortunately, you might get attacked feminists now. They tend to view people like yourself as traitors.

I hope you find a balanced way of thinking about gender politics and rights, one that you're happy with.

Actually really good video. Toward the mid part I thought, for a moment she was going to slide back into being comfortable with the status quo. I was impressed.

It's funny, I want to warn her "Keep up the skepticism, on both sides". -which it looks like she will do.

Because of how the MRM has to fight, a one sentence statement tends to have to have pages of justification behind that statement. If newer minds just start parroting that statement without having the pages of justification in the back of their minds, they will both be easily shredded by Feminist uses of various pitfalls and logical fallacies... and may even "relapse" back into thinking, "no, I was initially right, and now I am wrong".

Her comment concerning understanding that it's more complicated gives me hope though.

I still say that I have no trouble with feminism. I have trouble with the ill-conceived philosophy in any group. If feminism as a human rights movement that focuses on gender inequalities affecting women, I'm totally ok with that. One would assume then, that feminism would at least verbally support masculism as a counterpart helping the other half. My issue is the fact that there is no such support.

So I agree with OP, but I'm not yet ready to throw away feminism as a whole. I also think that we need to be careful not to damage feminists that are doing fair work. If MRMs are going to pretend to be above the bad acts of many feminists, they'll need to make sure that they're not committing any of the same acts. Remember, masculism isn't an anti-feminist movement, it's an equal rights movement.
