Genders aren't mentioned, but describing this as an "affair" seems to indicate this was a female school secretary and a male basketball player. Need to find some details.

Shouldn't the bigger issue here be that this guy has only been arrested, yet everyone already assumes he is guilty?

The statement from Sanchez said the district was extending its support to “the alleged victim” and that counseling will be available to high school students next week.

Also, why is the alleged victim in quotes?

Blame the article writer for writing something in poor taste. That woman was what, 98 years old? My grandmother is 82. Really the nicest woman you will ever meet. I challenge anyone to spend 5 minutes with her and not like her. Unless you are black. Or Jewish. (I don't think she would know a homosexual if one slapped her on the ass)

When people get that old I just kind of shrug. Age has some advantages I suppose.

But the writer, the writer should have recognized this and not included that quote. That person is an ass.

I could tell the article would be crap by looking at the first line and not even being able to determine what state this took place in. It shouldn't have taken Google to tell me it was in New York.

Here's a hint for local papers with websites: The people in other states that see your articles will have no CLUE where your news is taking place unless you tell them.
