If you read what the dudes over at menslib writes you'll quickly find out that literally every action of sexism is misogyny in their view. If there exist any sort of misandry it is only because a greater force of misogyny lies behind it. They're male feminists, this shouldn't come as any suprise that they operate under a feminstic framework.

When a woman slaps, punches, or kicks a man in a movie or t.v. show and he falls down immediately groaning in pain, this obviously does not imply that she is weak.

Just the opposite, the real message that is being portrayed is "women will kick your ass, men, so don't you dare mess with them."

And because the action is always portrayed as either benign or even positive, there is also an underlying message of "women are morally right to use physical violence against men". You know, to "teach 'em a lesson".

It's just a worldview, not a fact. Harmful double-standards exist as a result of societal gender expectations, not as bias against only one gender in a vacuum. That's why I hate it when people say that "you throw like a girl" is misogyny but "you look like a dude" is somehow just more misogyny. People are harmed by these things not because of unilateral hatred, but because people aren't operating within their expected roles. For example, if I go down to the Toyota dealership and the dealer tells me the car I want isn't road-worthy but it can get up to 60 knots in choppy water, I'm not going to buy that car. That's not because I hate or think less of boats, but because I expect a car to be a car and a boat to be a boat.

Misogyny does bad things to men? Maybe, but in the case of a woman abusing a man, it's the woman who is abusing the man which is the big problem. How is that a function of her hating women? The fact that society doesn't see it as a problem might be because of misogyny, but isn't the main problem. It probably isn't though because people choosing to focus on that as the problem instead of the violence the woman perpetrated makes me think that all this stems from misandry.

It's true that people tend to think that a woman can't harm a man when push comes to shovel. But that has nothing to do with misogyny, it's a typical generalization: it seems to be true so often that using it is useful. It's like .. when people think that parents don't hurt but protect their children. It's not always true but often enough so that it's a useful, pragmatic generalization.

But how true is it that women can't really harm a man physically. There are at least two levels: 1) when a man is just pushed around by a woman and 2) when a man is in danger because of the violent behavior of a woman.

In the latter case men can fight back successfully most of the time. Few women are stronger and better fighters than their partners. It's biology.

But if a woman uses violence "just" to intimidate a man into subservience, it's different. There are a lot of men who don't know how to handle situations like that. They can't - or won't - hit back, they know that fighting verbally just increases the fury, asking for help or calling the cops is not an option. There seems to be no winning strategy and so they just let it go on.

And, yes, they can be afraid, too.

But for violent women violence is a winning strategy, at least - until it ruins the relationship, reputation, and everything else.

And that's why there is more female on male violence than the other way around.

He's partically correct. It seeing her as incapable of violence or causing harm because she's a woman's and that's "mens role" but that attitude is encouraged by feminism.
He places this above the plight of the victim which is the man and the misandry of minimising male victims experiences.

So two sexisms are at work one big one against men that has devasting results and one against women that absolves them of responsibility and treats them better than male abusers

But because of his indoctrination he sees the second one as more important because of gynocentrism

There's an article on menslib that discusses exactly this issue, entitled "I abused a man in public and no one cared [BBC]". The word misogyny is nowhere to be found in the article, and I found the responses to be in line with my own reaction to the story.

I can't link to it because links to menslib are prohibited here, apparently. I find that very disturbing given that menslib fosters so much compassion for the mistreatment of men and boys.
