Ha, this is amazing. I think Katy should be innocent until proven guilty, as others have said, but it's interesting that this is happening. People are starting to see that women can be inappropriate to men too.

Plus, Perry is just a suspect personality anyway. We already have her on a TV show tricking a guy to kiss her, we already have a music video where she looks at the dick of a guy who is asleep.

[–]filledboy 127 points128 points129 points 6 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

I’m still all for the innocent until proven guilty, so I’m not calling her names yet. I’m just curious to see how everything will turn out.

[–]SharedRegime 137 points138 points139 points 6 years ago* (12 children) | Copy Link

Look at cardi b. Who admited to drugging and raping men. She suffered no consequences. Katy will face none either.

EDIT: apparently im being told that she didnt admit to raping but robbing and thats good and dandy but i remember reading multiple stories when the story first broke that she admitted that and yes it could have been false info but dont attack me in my private messages.

[–][deleted] 52 points53 points54 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We need to keep pushing for it. Just because it didnt happen once doesn't mean we give up and adopt the tactics that made us join this movement

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You spelled robbing wrong.

[–]RNGJesus_Follower 14 points15 points16 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There probably was some rape in there too

[–]SharedRegime 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I read it was both.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

She said "robbing" men, not raping. You clearly haven't so much as googled the story, let alone gotten your facts straight.

[–]SharedRegime 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I have, and i found multiple stories when this first started going around that said she admitted to raping. Nice assumptions though.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Source?

[–]Hanzo44 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

She didn't admit to raping anyone. Stop spreading false narratives.

[–]SharedRegime 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Im only repeating what i read in many places. There was another person who admitted to raping men and had nothing done to her. Either way Cardi B got a pass for something no man would ever be free with doing.

[–]goodwill_joe -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Cardi can rape me anyday

[–]SharedRegime 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Then its not rape.

[–]goodwill_joe 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ctfu

[–]tenchineuro 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

I’m still all for the innocent until proven guilty

That's for a court of law. But if she's been accused of a sexual impropriety, she should face the same fate of a man so accused, loss of job and career.

[–]filledboy 26 points27 points28 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Or neither should face any repercussions, because nothing is proven yet.

[+]tenchineuro -10 points-9 points-8 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Or neither should face any repercussions, because nothing is proven yet.

That's not the way things work today.

And if you vote for the status quo, that's what you'll get.

[–]filledboy 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Yeah obviously that’s not how things work today you fucking idiot. I’m just saying it SHOULDN’T happen. Accusation are just that. Do I really have to spell it out for you this much?

[–]tenchineuro -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yeah obviously that’s not how things work today you fucking idiot. I’m just saying it SHOULDN’T happen.

And what do you propose to do about it?

Accusation are just that. Do I really have to spell it out for you this much?

I think that men and women should be treated the same, legally and otherwise. Do you object to this?

[–]filledboy -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What the fuck are you on about? How are you still asking questions as if my views aren’t already clear enough? I’m done entertaining your stupidity.

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Chill.

I'm trying to discuss this, you don't seem to comprehend this, so have a good day.

[–]conneramitch 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That guy is a fucking idiot

[–]jameswalker43 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ok, I get that you can have strong feelings about this issue. Remember - THIS SHALL PASS.

[–]filledboy -4 points-3 points-2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I’m just pissed/baffled at how dense that tenchineuro guy is.

[–]KorvisKhan 16 points17 points18 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's just funny that no one says 'innocent until proven guilty' when it's a man. They instantly condemn him, he loses his job, and his public image is destroyed. Guilty until proven innocent. People are all too happy to watch a good character assassination.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I say it every time

[–]BlairResignationJam_ 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I think at least some women can empathise what it’s like to be sexually harassed compared to men who probably don’t experience it on the same level, and when they do it’s not as threatening. It annoys me when men brush this stuff off or say you’re “gay” for not wanting it because they would totally fuck her or whatever

[–]tenchineuro 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I think at least some women can empathise what it’s like to be sexually harassed compared to men who probably don’t experience it on the same level, and when they do it’s not as threatening.

Biased much?

[–]BlairResignationJam_ 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Ifs not a matter of bias. I’m a gay man who can easily throw off a woman coming at me most of the time, but a smaller woman has little defence against a larger male. Just use your brain.

[–]tenchineuro 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ifs not a matter of bias. I’m a gay man who can easily throw off a woman coming at me most of the time, but a smaller woman has little defence against a larger male. Just use your brain.

Now you're changing the subject, sexual harassment is not violence. The effects of sexual harassment don't depend on your sex or orientation.

[–]CoolMintMC 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, I think they have sexual harassment & sexual assault mixed up.

I mean, they are easily confusable, especially when not everybody uses the definitions of the words correctly, which only spreads confusion.

[–]CoolMintMC 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Those "men" are fucking brain dead. FFS.

It's fine for someone to get touchy with you if you consent & are okay with it.

HOWEVER, I will say that personally, I COMPLETELY don't understand that mindset. Like, if I don't even know you, regardless of if you're attractive or not, I don't want you getting very touchy with me.

But maybe that's not the most popular opinion. How should I know? 🤔

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I see this and see two sides one deserves punishment if its true and the other that hopes it isn't because I really like her music and it would remind me everytime that she wasn't a good person.

[–]colubrinus1 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

She might not control the music videos.

[–]jonnyhaldane 22 points23 points24 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm pretty sure she can refuse to do something that will make her look bad, even if she isn't producing the video.

[–]colubrinus1 -3 points-2 points-1 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Maybe, but we don’t know the contents of her contract.

[–][deleted] 785 points786 points787 points 6 years ago* (79 children) | Copy Link

"Accused".

Innocent untill proven guilty.

Just as all men should be.

We shouldn't be out there forming an internet lynch mob simply because thats what angry feminists do when men are accused.

We should be better and follow due process.

[–]mcmur 150 points151 points152 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I agree, But pointing out the double-standard here is valid. "Innocent until proven guilty" is true only for women.

Hell, innocent even after proven guilty is true for women if you really take a look at how the justice system works and how much better its treats them then men.

[–][deleted] 72 points73 points74 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Point out the double standard sure.

Thats very useful.

But only in conjuction with not acting the way we decry them for.

Otherwise our hypocrisy will outweigh our righteousness.

[–]MasonTaylor22 18 points19 points20 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Agree, we are not like them and we don't support acting like them either.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly, The next time a mob if baying feminists go after a man on a flinsy accusation, our correct response to this will be able to be used as an exmple of how to behave and how the mens rights movement is not a reactionist, woman hating group.

[–]Socialist133 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Absolutely

[–]Egalitarianwhistle 21 points22 points23 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And let's not forget guilty even after proven innocent for a lot of guys.

[–]mattymatt360 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Like Cardo B herself admitting to drugging and robbing men

[–]mcmur 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yep, pretty much.

[–]NohoTwoPointOh 174 points175 points176 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Absolutely.

However, in the American Idol case, we have video proof of inappropriate behavior.

But you are right. I will not be the wench lynch mob that the other side has become

[–]sabbas400 26 points27 points28 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

What's the American Idol case?

[–]disgustangshet 57 points58 points59 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Im guessing the time she pressured a guy into kissing her on the cheek, then when he finally did she turned so it was a kiss on he lips at the last moment.

EDIT

[–]NohoTwoPointOh 41 points42 points43 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh, if a man had done that, he would be fellating Cosby in jail. But if the goddesses do it, everything's all good.

[+]actorsspace -8 points-7 points-6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

American Idol is fake and this was almost 100% surely staged, but still.

[–]cobbb11 37 points38 points39 points 6 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I'm pretty sure most people here do that. We're just demanding that ones who go straight to "believe all women", every time a man is accused of something, need to be consistent with this now and not hypocrites.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago* (9 children) | Copy Link

Thats not what the petty comments indicated to me, hence my post.

Rather than demand these people continue their incorrect behaviour towards accused men, with women, why not allow them to use this example that will highlight their hypocrisy, to realise it may be wrong, and next time its a man they may not do it?

I'd rather everyone have the chance to improve their behaviour in this type of cirmcumstance than forcing people to maintain incorrect attitudes.

[–]cobbb11 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

No one is forcing anyone, and I don't really see a "mob mentality" here from the comments I've skimmed. Just more like, "hmmm, isn't it interesting there is no 'Brett Kavanugh' level outrage against Perry right now"?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (7 children) | Copy Link

You literally said people are demanding the same behaviour they would demonstrate towards men be exercised here.

[–]cobbb11 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Sorry, maybe 'demanding' sounds harsh written down. Didn't mean it like that when it was in my head while typing. I mean it more matter-of-factly, but now where just quibbling over semantics. Point is, we want to see the people who got the pitchforks out against Kavanugh either:
Bring them back out for Katy
Admit they're hypocrites and don't treat both sexes fairly
Admit they were wrong and cease assuming guilt for either male or female accused until evidence is presented.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

See I want people to put their pitchforks down after realising their error and not pick them back up when its a male accused again.

[–]cobbb11 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well sadly I don't think that's a world we currently live in

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It isn't, its a world I hope ti live in and this attitude is the one that will achieve it.

[–]slayerx1779 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No, he's pointing out the double standard.

We're not saying "why is Katy Perry not canceled", we're saying "isn't it odd that Katy Perry, doing similar shit, isn't canceled".

We don't want her to be. We don't want her to be treated the awful way that men often are by the justice system.

We want to be brought up to their level. We want rights.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I mean, he literally did day demand.

Brought up to their level how?

[–]slayerx1779 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women have a presumption of innocence that is supposed to be provided to everyone, but isn't.

That's how.

[–][deleted] 31 points32 points33 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks for reminding me and some folks of the right way to handle these accusations.

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 6 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

While I appreciate your desire to "go high" I can tell you with high confidence that it's a bad strategy. We've already been doing this for years and look where it's gotten us? In the worst spot our gender has ever been in.

Women have capitalized on screeching overreaction for decades against every many who has had the audacity to stare at them for longer than 0.2 seconds. Blowing things out of proportion is so deeply embedded into our culture, that doing anything less is basically waving away any perceived severity of the situation. In other words, if you're not outraged, you're saying "this is okay". Again, I want to emphasize that this isn't based on logical or what is "right", it's based on operating within a framework that was put in place by other people - the same people we need to show that this is not okay to.

So, if you want to go high, you'll fall on deaf ears and this will be cast into the memory hole. Society wouldn't go high with these types of accusations with reversed genders. Why should we? You need to fight fire with fire these days. Katy Perry has about as much evidence against her as any man would have before the internet pitch forks come out.

If nothing else, time and time again we have seen that when someone sets moronic rules for engagement and they have been generally accepted by the public, the only way to combat them is to vividly highlight the double standard via absurdity. We need to start screeching about this so women get angry at us, then finally stop to say "wait a second, innocent until proven guilty!" That's when the lightbulb goes off so that the next time some college kid gets accused of false rape and they hang him out to dry on the news, you'll have more people in his corner saying "wait a second". Until then, this is how it has to be. Don't get in the way.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Well Kevin spaceys trial just collapsed, the flase rape claim girl in Cyrpus is being prosecuted and was a huge UK story and the mainstream news is talking about Katy Perry being accused of sexual assault.

These accusations are being taken somewhat seriously and men are not being railroaded.

This isn't the worst spot our gender has been is. It is slowly getting better.

The reason its getting better is because everytime those in the middle see something like this and sees that men aren't demanding her head and are waiting for evidenxe, soxial percerptions slips slowly towards what we want.

You should have already noticed increased calls for people accused of sexual crimes to be given anonymity. That isn't because of the small amount of women accused, its because the media is highligting bad decisions, false claims and ruined lives.

We need to take the high road, be better, because its the so called screeching that you brought up and the lack of it from us that is slowly turning the tide and woll do so with our movement veing regarded in a better light when looked back on.

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Yeah? Tide's turning, eh? Then what's Kevin Spacey been in recently? Oh, that's right... fucking nothing. A guy who was doing 5 major projects a year has done nothing since being fired Netflix in 2018. You are so far off with your assessment, it's laughable.

The US just witnessed one of the most unfounded, largest spectacles of a hearing to confirm a supreme court justice while his wife and kids were dragged through hell for all to see on live tv. When have you ever seen that before? That's "getting better"?

For fucks sake, we live in an era where people like her get prime time slots on national television just because she says "I was raped".

Even this sub is flooded, daily, with people losing their shit over false accusations and getting fired or thrown out of school.

What are you talking about?! Your anecdotal rubbish is why we are getting in this mess. For everyone one you cite, I've got 10 that say otherwise.

Look at data. Why can't anyone even agree on what percentage of rapes are false? Some say 2% some say 40%. That's a ridiculous spread that should be just as easy as looking at everyone accused of rape who doesn't go to jail. That would be if people actually believed in innocent until proven guilty, they don't.

Even if they aren't jailed, lives are ruined before people even see the inside of a courtroom. (See Spacey, Kavanaugh, the Duke players, etc).

Reported rape cases are up while convictions do not rise at the same rate. What does that tell you? People are getting more rapey and better at it? Probably not.

Get out of here with that non-evidenced-based nonsense rhetoric. You're being naive.

[+][deleted] -11 points-10 points-9 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

You sound more like an angry incel that a rational person that wants equality.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Cute. I give you stats showing you don't know what you're talking about and you call me an incel. Very strong argument.

I don't think you belong here. Go back to r/twoxchromosomes where you don't need to work with pesky facts.

[–]MRA-automatron-2kb 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Only feminist call men Incels when we present them with facts.

[+][deleted] -6 points-5 points-4 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You have shown me some cherry picked facts of the current situation.

What you haven't shown me is how your idea of being reactionary and aggressive towards women rather than taking the high road, will fix it.

Statistics alone don't make a point.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

And you've shown nothing, then insulted me when I showed you why the things you said are false.

By the way, if you think demonstrating rape accusations increasing vs convictions staying the same is a "cherrypicked" stat regarding the escalation of false rape claims and fallout for men, then you obviously don't know what cherrypicked means, either.

Have a great day.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Ive given you an opinion which you think is incorrect for reversing the trend, inspite of the evidence of a change in public perception.

You have got a "high level of confidence" it is the wrong method, yet you have no evidence that your method is correct.

You are talking specifically about rape claims in a discussion about accused sexual assualt by a public figure and the public reaction to it.

I will have a great day, as I am not an angry person like you are.

[–]Egalitarianwhistle 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

While I understand Redpillcafe's anger, I agree with Sailor in that I do think the pendulum is getting ready to swing back. I dont think either Sailor or myself are trying to downplay the damage already done. But that damage itself has strengthened the muscles of the resistance. People like us have equipped ourselves with the real facts. We have seen beneath the veneer. We are the antibodies. The mask of #metoo will be pulled off and the ugliness will be seen for what it is. Men are being gaslighted about false rape accusations while being raped more than women.

[–]josh_legs 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

1000%. If we believe innocent until proven guilty for men, WE MUST ALSO believe it for women if we actually care about egalitarianism.

[–]MrTacoMan27 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nice comment! I agree with you, we should strive to be better

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Nice. I like you. I was ready with the bile, but you’re right, we should be a better example.

We’re not women !

[–]Fuckoff555 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

We’re not women !

You know that there are women who support innocent until proven guilty right? I think you meant to say feminists.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You’re right x

I was being facetious/cheeky

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Facheekious

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I like you too!

[–]Blutarg 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Amen.

[–]Raddyrode 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Of course this is the top comment when it’s a woman being accused

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It should be the top comment when men are accused too.

That is my point.

[–]Raddyrode 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I know it should, but in your post you put innocent until proven guilty, and yours is the top comment - something which will never happen with a man as much as you say it should be that way

[–]tothebromobile2 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

this. it's actually quite sad to see these petty posts. this sub more often than not doesn't see their own hypocrisy when pointing out hipocrisy of feminist bs.

[–]Fuckoff555 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What the fuck? Can you show me the comments in this thread that are assuming that she's already guilty? Cause If you can't, then there no such hypocrisy as the one you're talking about. We want accusations when the perpetrator is a woman to be taken seriously just like when the perpetrator is a man, and not to directly assume that they're guilty just from being accused.

[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points-2 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Well for example, saying "I'll bet she will get off with no worries at all" assumes she did something wrong, to get off from.

[–]andejoh 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, but also equality under the law. Now, companies don't have to follow the first one. They legally required to abide by the last one. We should expect any entity that acted against a male based on an accusation to do the same with Perry (ie if the record label dropped Dr. Luke, they should drop Perry also).

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago* (7 children) | Copy Link

Private companies aren't beholden to precedent.

[–]Wade856 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

But they are beholden to public opinion that affects their bottom line. The record company that dropped Dr Luke probably did so out of fear of public reprisal, such as a boycott of their artists & product, because of a percieved perception that they supported his accused behavior towards women.

The reason they aren't dropping Perry is because they're hedging their bets that women fans won't let this deter any support of Perry, while outcry among her male fans will be minimal. But, if men threaten to boycott ALL the artists that the record company employ, then I bet they will do something about Katy Perry just like they will if a male artist was accused of the same.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Public opinion exactly. And 50% of people hate them when they treat men badly. Yes they will look at their audience and decide what is the best strategy. It's disgusting but it doesnt contradict my point that they dont have to treat an individual one way because they treated another one that way, which was my argument.

[–]andejoh -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Not according to the Civil Rights Act if 1963. Companies (and the SCOTUS extended this to contractor / customers when they ruled sports teams have to allow female reporters in the locker rooms if they allowed male reporters) are required to treat employees the same regardless of gender.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

Except an employee on a different contract shoots that out the window.

All famous people have individual contracts.

If I can prove in court, based on contract law which is super regimented, that they fulfilled a different role and had differing responsibilities then the civil rights act in egards to equal treatment for equal employment will not count. As they arent employed on equal terms.

I mean, thats me using my UK masters in Law, it may be different in the US if you have case law to back it up, but I doubt it.

Football (amercam I mean) players in the same position get differnt pay and levels of sponsorship games and differing punishments for the same infractions.

[–]andejoh -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

that they fulfilled a different role and had differing responsibilities then the civil rights act in egards to equal treatment for equal employment will not count

Sure, but if one qualification is that they haven't been accused of sexual harassment, then you're wrong.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Thank you, you literally made me laugh so hard I spat out my beer.

Firstly find me a contract that stipulates accused sexual harrassment as a clause that means they lose their contracted rights and revert to a basic employment contract.

Secondly find me any precedence that says anyone accused of sexual harrasment is employed on the same terms and conditions of anyone else accused but not concvicted.

Dude, high school law club doesn't make you a lawyer.

Christ my LLM doesn't make me a lawyer.

It does mean I have a good understanding of contract law though.

[–]tenchineuro -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not according to the Civil Rights Act if 1963. Companies (and the SCOTUS extended this to contractor / customers when they ruled sports teams have to allow female reporters in the locker rooms if they allowed male reporters) are required to treat employees the same regardless of gender.

But male reporters don't have access to female locker rooms, so we don't have equal protection under the law.

[–]Shayde505 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Well I mean there is a video of her kissing a under aged boy on live TV when he expressly stated he didn't want to be kissed by her so I mean shes already guilty of that much at least.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Imagine if some guy had kissed some underage girl when she denied permission. He'd be in jail in no time.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What is the legal age to kiss out of curiosity?

[–]Shayde505 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well I mean if we are splitting hairs the legal age of consent at least where I am is 16.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

For kissing? Crikey.

[–]Nergaal 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Even if there is video evidence, this accused will pay it off. Trump doing the same thing means half of internet freaking out, Perry doing it means nobody outside this sub will care.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It has bren reported in multiple national newspapers in the UK. My wife cares.

[–]Nergaal -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And see how nothing will change.

[–]tayto -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Due process while not criticizing the accusers. Voice concern. Take steps to make sure the accused cannot continue what he/she is accused of. Listen to accusers.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Apart from being a crisp making castle in Ireland I cannot fathom what you mean.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Except that’s not how it works.

[–]balphegor -3 points-2 points-1 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

This isn’t equality dude, this is some self righteous Chivalry.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Ita literally me treating an accused woman how I hope I would be treated if i was every accused.

You can't get more equal than that.

[–]balphegor 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Are you a celebrity example for the rest of the population?

Do you get away with things because money, status and gender?

So tell me again how this is pertinent and helpful.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Ive been on the news a few times.

Yes I get away with loads because of status, for example I have diplomatic immunity in many countries and have killed people without legal repercussions.

You argued that my perosnal opinion was self righteous and was not equality, even though the treatment was demonstrably equal, now you are arguing that my personal opinion in regards to equality doesn't count if it isn't relevant to the masses.

You have moved the goal posts because your argument was totally horseshit.

[–]balphegor -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Boy that escalated quickly

We’re talking about Katy perry not some guy fantasizing about murder, you.

And the articles describe how she committed these acts with witnesses present

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well it didn't.

You asked a series of questions that I answered calmly. That isn't an escalation sweetheart.

I didn't and haven't murdered anyone, murder is unlawful killing, all my killing was endorsed by my government during a war.

What does your last sentence have to do with your previous vitriol?

[–]filledboy 146 points147 points148 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I imagine since it’s a woman making the accusations now, it’ll gain more traction/support.

[–]mangaka92 116 points117 points118 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's a woman accusing another woman, so it cancels out.

[–]pomegranate2012 43 points44 points45 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think that's actually right!

I would imagine the Guardian will not be touching this one.

[–]5th_Law_of_Robotics[S] 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Likely.

[–]FUCKEAGAMES 66 points67 points68 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah she still hasn't even commented on either accusation and I highly doubt she will ever have to.

[–]5th_Law_of_Robotics[S] 42 points43 points44 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She likely won't. She's been given a total pass already.

Commenting wouldn't help.

[–]CttCJim 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

not unless someone actually charges her. this is just media bluster until that happens.

[–]JfreakingR 48 points49 points50 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How many people complained about Cardi. B? What happened with that?

[–]5th_Law_of_Robotics[S] 30 points31 points32 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A lot. And nothing.

[–]doctordesktop76 points 6 years ago* [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

[–]lion_lin 58 points59 points60 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

She's very questionable..anyone remember when she kissed that teenage boy on American Idol without his consent?

[–]nocivo 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]reddit_only 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That is what the link says. He and his friends rationalized it as not counting since it wasn’t romantic.

[–]TheSentinelsSorrow 16 points17 points18 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Funny how people are crying innocent until proven guilty for Katy Perry(as it should be)

Noone gives a fuck for a certain other demographic that makes up half of humanity tho

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Of course there’s guys out there who are defending her (and Amber Heard) just because she’s attractive. “She can sexually assault me any time hur durr durr 😜”

It’s really disgusting.

[–]chain-gang-desperate 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Things that make me go huh. I like the idea of treating her with how it should be, innocent until proven guilty. I also like the idea of making an example out of her like have been made by countless other men.

[–]Lion_amongst_gods 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Gender-neutral sexual assault laws... This is now an absolute necessity!

[–]Ineedmorebread 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Is this the part where we don't ask for evidence and just spam "I believe h̶e̶r̶ him"

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This would be the part where feminists do that yes.

My only issue with taking the high road and not pulling Katy Perry’s name through the bus is that without action the double standard won’t change. If we assume Katy perry to be innocent until proven guilty (unlike many men who’ve been accused) no one will take notice until during a debate when we say we took the high road and everyone says “took the high road on what?”

[–]MrMorsley 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

'Believe all women' is a nonsense.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'll bet she will get off with no worries at all 👍

[–]gixxer 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why am I not surprised? This is the same person who sexually assaulted a guy on live tv.

[–]MentalAsFog 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Miley Cyrus was 15 and Katy Perry was 24 when "I kissed a girl" came out.

Cyrus claims the song is about her.

[–]sakura_drop 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Miley Cyrus is also famously full of shit and a massive attention whore who has a history of saying utter nonsense.

[–]Egalitarianwhistle 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's about highlighting a double standard. Imagine only men were punished for stealing. Then women begin to grow righteously indignant about the horrible crime of theft and push for more.and harsher punishment with less due process. If suddenly women could also be prosecuted for theft, their self interest would kick in and they would stop trying to erode due process rights. Whatnis happening right now is that MRA's are holding the line trying to stop women from hurting innocent men, themselves and all humanity. If you erode due process, men will be hurt but eventually women will also be hurt.

MRA's are like the Nights watch. It is a thankless job. But an attack on due process is an attack on liberty. We die on this hill.

[–]DanteLivra 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]pusymaster 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nothing's gonna happen, this is just an accusation. No one even gives a shit when there's concrete proof, like remember how Lena Dunham mouth raped brad pitt and everyone already forgot

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because apparently he reciprocated it and some people say he did it first based on the series of pictures 🙄

Pisses me off how this society automatically treats men as scum.

[–]Gozie5 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I honestly see this getting swept under the carpet. Many still find it difficult to take male victims of this crime seriously

[–]ziggmuff 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ever seen her without make up?

She is not an attractive woman.

It is no shock that she pushes herself on others for attention, there's a reason no dude wants to be with her. She's pretentious and batshit insane, a fake tool used by the industry to fool the public.

I don't know if it's true or not but 2 accusers or 5 or whatever doesn't make it in any way more true. We've all seen how many times men who get accused suddenly get pounced on by many parasites who see a payday. So innocent until proven guilty is still what we should think.

[–]throwawayincelacc 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I love how Google News didn't even mention the sexual harassment "allegations" against Katy Perry. Meanwhile Placido Domingo is smeared and pasted all over with shows cancelled instantly.

An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind coming from a woman who subscribes to men's rights not womens and is in the side of logic not +metoo BS.

This is ridiculous. Just as 50+women coming after all celebrity men after someone came first and walked with $$$

Oh also these women are the ones who complain (some politician pence? Idr) would not go to solo dinner with a woman. OH the MISOGYNY! No he is smart. When women know they could face similar shit they stfu.

It's not about letting her do whatever she wants with you. It's about her doing whatever she wants with people who didnt let her do whatever they want. For example, would you let me do whatever I want with your grandma even if she didnt want to?
