It's amazing how this forced equity system is an outrage when it harms women. Such as trans women winning beauty pageants with scholarships or bursaries, or trans women on covers of magazines as "Woman of the Year". Then trans women modelling female clothing.

The hypocrisy is extremely stark in feminism that they have no problem with 100s of million of tax dollars going to female only internships, scholarships in colleges as well as female only PhDs, MBAs, stipends etc... etc... when even MINORITY men are blocked! We also have hundreds of tax funded girl-only classrooms in a time when girls outperform boys in school at every level. All the while Title 9 deems this illegal which is their own fucking law that they use to force Boys Scouts of America to open to girls but then don't want to follow this law themselves.

This type of thing has got me noticing that feminists love this anti-male discrimination but hate trans women being effectively quota-assigned to beauty pageants and at the front of magazines and clothing lines, when it is the very thing feminists want for themselves.

I think the trans rights movement probably has the best shot of shaking apart a lot of female privilege.

Unfortunately with the way things going it's going to drag women's rights down to men's rights for equality rather than boosting men up to match women's privileges. There will be no winners.

[–]_insomagent 36 points37 points38 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Maybe we need a new movement, call it "FERTs" (Feminist Exclusive Radical Transgender)

It's only a matter of time before there's a brand new gender of some kind of male / female mutant combo, in addition to the already confusing landscape.

There was a whole thread on askreddit yesterday called “What Problems do Women Still Face in 2023?”

The whole thing was feminist propaganda with vote brigading (unsurprising). Things like fear mongering that women get attacked on the regular (despite stats showing that it’s more frequent for men), women getting paid less, jobs being more exclusionary, etc.

Saw one person complaining about how women only internships and mentorships still don’t produce results while ignoring the fact that it blocks out tons of deserving men from even entering those programs just because they’re now gendered. Guess what opinion is more popular? “Reeee block out all men!”

[–]Oncefa2 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's funny how r/AskMen let's women post there but AskWomen tries to block everyone.

You basically have to be a radical feminist to post there. Being a regular (non-radical) feminist isn't even enough anymore.

[–]CivilianMonty 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And just as many women reply on askmen as men do

Maybe it's not worth it to waste marketing dollars and missed revenue, to get hated in the end?

IMO Equity is the worst of DEI. It doesn't mean the same as equality, which gives everyone an equal chance at success and accomplishments. Equity instead rewards certain demographics just for existing.

If they thought seriously about inclusion and belonging they might actually fix the diversity problem too... But they didn't, and don't.

The Irish?

[–]Crassard 14 points15 points16 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hot take, both are wrong. Discrimination is just that whether it's "benevolent" or not and it can fuck right off

[–]Mode1961 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Here's the problem, most things are a zero-sum game. You give to one group you have to take away from another, jobs as an example

And here is the kicker

The people you are giving this stuff to were NOT the ones who were discriminated against; they only share a biological characteristic with those who were. IOW, women in theory were discriminated against and now other women will reap the benefits.

[–]Kill_Da_Humanz 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Both the victims and the perpetrators of that discrimination are mostly dead. Now people are being punished or rewarded for things they never did.

[–]Yozora1337 50 points51 points52 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

MtF transgender is a huge threat to feminism, it shows how much privilege you can get by being perceived as a woman; destroying their "patriarchy" bullshit.

[–]Oncefa2 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There was research on gender blind hiring in STEM which found that female presenting cis men scored the highest while male presenting cis women scored the lowest. (Which was opposite of what the researchers thought was going to happen).

The intersection basically showed that a) men were objectively more qualified on average and b) men were being actively discriminated against in favour of women.

So yeah ignoring that trans is a real thing, it also ironically opens the doors for cis men to exploit the system. So long as you're able to pass IRL, that is.

[–]Merebankguy 15 points16 points17 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The fact Dylan and Jeffrey both got tampon sponsorship, shows how bad it is but feminists will never admit it.

[–]63daddy 54 points55 points56 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

It will be interesting to see what further information emerges, but whenever I hear a company talk about “equity” or “diversity and inclusion” it’s a good bet they are using such language to justify discrimination.

I really don’t care if they want to single out and support a transgender person, but if they are actively discriminating in employment, that’s another issue all together.

[–]Nachtlicht_ 20 points21 points22 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's like from Orwell's novel, Exclusion is Inclusion.

[–]pardonmeimdrunk 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

‘Diversity’ is now code for no white man.

[–]63daddy 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yep. Funny how excluding people if a certain demographic is sold as being diverse and inclusive.

[–]pardonmeimdrunk 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Unfortunately they don’t see the irony, they just hate white men.

[–]Crassard 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Talk to any of the moves and many jobs around Ontario they only hire women or are strongly discouraged against anything else. Even rent is segregated by gender with tonnes of female or female student only places for cheaper than anywhere else.

Goddamn this world has went to shit across the board.

[–]KrazyJazz 14 points15 points16 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wonder how many other big companies are practising 'positive discrimination' towards women? All of them maybe?

[–]EpicHajsownik 37 points38 points39 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The whole situation about bud light shows how much people dont care anout men. Men in ukraine are being forced to die on war, no one cares.

But when some dude says he is a woman and gets put on some beer cover (white not hurting any women), then the whole internet make protest about it. Seriously women dont have real issues, they are now mad about men dressing like women

[–]odysseytree 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What did they expect? She will prioritise her gender first ofcourse. Wikipedia literally has an article on women are wonderful effects.

[–]Spare_Development615 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thousands of men in Ukraine dying every day in a US proxy war and nobody cares.

They care about Bud Light.

Feminism : "Men are violent animals."

Terfs : "Trans are violent animals because they're men."

Trans : "We're not men, we swear! Pleeeease let us go in your safe spaaaace!"

Men : "Looks around, shrugs, goes back to drinking his Heineken."

[–]Revolutionary-Power- 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I thought we were still mad at Mr. Potato head?

[+]SouthernSeeker -25 points-24 points-23 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Let me see if I understand this situation: Budweiser, a company that makes lousy beer, hires Dylan Mulvaney to promote its product, and this s/he (wherever you want to draw that line) is transsexual. And to many people, this is a problem, because... why, exactly? Are "rural, blue collar Americans" upset that trans people exist? Are you worried that they'll drink all the crappy beer and there won't be enough left for you? I mean, worrying about what your kids are being taught in school is one thing, but that has nothing do with endorsing beer. Do you know the genital arrangement of EVERY spokesperson you see? Why would you care? I don't know SQUAT about this person, so maybe I'm missing something, but an endorsement is just an endorsement- unless you're planning on dating Dylan, demographics are irrelevant. Anyway, people have a problem with that, right?

But active discrimination from an organization that calls itself an equal opportunity employer is acceptable?

[–]plainwalk 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The only problem I have with Dylan is she screams "fake" to me. She was a Broadway actor before this, will not take hormone blockers, get surgery (other than face), or do anything to transition. Her videos are so terrible that they could be a parody of the stereotypical "girly girl" a la *Legally Blonde."

She's probably the worst person possible to represent the Trans community, the broader LGBT community, or even women writ large.

Honestly, I'm 90% sure this is just an act for money and/or a subversive campaign to set back LGBT rights.

[–]SouthernSeeker -4 points-3 points-2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Okay, now THAT is a legitimate complaint- assuming it's genuine; like I said, I genuinely don't know- but I doubt that's what the fuss is all about. I think almost no one complaining about it (and many people are; these things don't drift down beneath the rock I live under without a LOT of push from above) is thinking that much.

[–]Unknown_Ladder 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Because giving privileges to only women is sexist

[–]SouthernSeeker -5 points-4 points-3 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Emphatically- that's exactly what I was complaining about. It seems to me that any rational person would see that as a MUCH bigger deal then appointing an unpopular spokesperson.

[–]Unknown_Ladder 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

And you're literally the one doing that by focusing on the trans spokesperson and trying to derail the thread. What's your point exactly? This thread is about the company giving privileges to woman

[–]SouthernSeeker -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What on Earth are you talking about? The picture next to the headline is of Dylan. The POST was what brought her up, and my reply to it was questioning why THAT was what was being focused on instead of bigoted programs.

Think before you criticize.

[–]Unknown_Ladder 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's important context to show that they're already facing a controversy, even if its a transphobic controversy. That shows how this is even worse for the company to receive even more backlash.

Using the picture as a thumbnail is a fair point as it is meant to get you to click on the article, look at the other daily mail articles they almost always use a photo of an important person in the article as the thumbnail, they're a tabloid that wants to attract people's attention. Your point is right that they shouldn't use clickbait like that, but I counter your point by saying its not transphobic and it's just following what daily mail articles usually do. Plus she's the spokesperson of budwiser aftee all so that also makes sense they chose her.

[–]jjj25761 points 3 years ago [recovered] (5 children) | Copy Link

so now all the white guys are saying 'if you don't hire me i'll sue you for discrimination'? that somehow sounds like whiney kids complaining how their supposed entitlement doesn't work anymore. wish everyone would just grow up.

and MtF transgender is not a huge threat to feminism - it's a huge threat to fairness. personally could care less about dylan drinking Bud's piss water - care about female athlete's having to unfairly compete with male physiques in female sports.

[–]Unknown_Ladder 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Face it, sports have always been based around who has the stronger genetics. We dont have a short people league to make basketball more fair. The main reason women's leagues exist is because of feminism

[+]cjgager 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

you really don't know what feminism means do you?

[–]KingRio123 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So, it's alright when women do the exact same thing eh? According to you, it's alright when feminists say "If you don't hire me I'll sue you" but when white men like us do the exact same thing it's somehow unacceptable to you? It's alright when women complain about discrimination but when men do it there seems to be a problem? Dude there's something seriously wrong with you. It seems like you need to grow up mate and not others.
