I'm not discrediting the hardworking women that deserve it, because there are some out there that can work laps around me and kick ass. But, I've noticed in the workplace it's not much different. Many managers I've had take a liking to the above average looking women and tend to give them raises more often.

I think they missed a critical piece for the male attractiveness: Male physical attractiveness standards are is tied closely to musculature- IE if you work out, and have a slim face/muscular neck you are more attractive. There's going to be a lot of overlap between 'driven, goal oriented male students' and 'driven self improvement oriented male students'.

These are going to be the kids that feel 'the world is their's for the taking' if they put in the effort.

A bajillion years ago I had a shit english teacher. He had his pets, and he had those he hated. I was in the hated crew.

Even the pets found this sickening as they just got A+ all the time. He would even put in comments, "This isn't your best work, but I know you could have done better; enjoy the weekend!"

So, 5 of the pets and 5 of us deplorables swapped papers for a month.

We got our usual Ds and the pets got their As. Then we went to the principal and told him what we did. The result was the marks were all changed. We all got Ds.

I would love to see the educational system go to entirely blind marking. I suspect the teacher would be enraged by such a situation.

Blind marking and the mark entered is the final mark. Make fixing a mark (as people do make mistakes in marking) be a peer review process where a single student can't have many marks changed without it going to a school board level review.

Throughout highschool it was the cool kids getting the As and in University it was the jocks they allowed to slide through. This last would be harder, as when I was in Uni they had special classes for the football team to "accommodate" their schedules. Yet, they wouldn't let anyone else in these same courses. I had more than one professor complain that the courses went beyond bird courses, basically everyone gets an A- was the rule.

I remember this hottie in a CS class (yeah…). Was sitting next to her in a lab. TA docks me some points cause it fails some test cases. Thought but if that’s how it is, then whatever. She demos hers next. Gets less than half right. Fucker opens her code up and starts helping her correct her errors. What the fuck.

Was so pissed I wrote an email to the Dean. Dunno if anything happened to him but it felt good to call him out to someone who (presumably) could do something about it.

Recently went back to school for Software and I noticed this. I had a few group mates who were pretty girls.

DID FUCK ALL and still expected to pass. They would show up to the grouo calls and just say they didnt do their work cause they had a party TEE HEEE.

Then when we put them down as 0% contribution they were SCHOOOOOCKED. As if they couldnt believe they had to do more then just show up.

Keep in mind practically every woman I met during my time in class when asked about why they chose coding

"to break down the barriers for women in stem"......while they do literal fuck all and then complain its cause its a boys club

Hey, just saying that this study was posted in r/science a few months ago, and is severly faulty in many areas.

The ethics displayed and methods used were not approved, overlooked by peers or in any way validated by other researchers at the university. If you really want to get the factual information, I'd recommend just reading the science article itself.

Just know that it is subject to a lot of criticism, and rightfully so. I think the guy that made it even got sued for malpractice. Wouldn't recommend using it as a source

These finding read to me as - women lose their beauty premium when in an online setting because the male professor understands that he has no chance of being able to have sex with her. Where as in-person he maintains that shred of hope that one day she wants to stay after class. No incentive to do her favours. A very conscious bias.

In contrast to men, who get the benefit just for being good looking due to the grader’s unconscious bias to beauty. A base level bias humans are susceptible to, without the overt sexual based bias.

This is pussypassdenied sooo could be the wrong sub for this kind of logic. I’m not a feminist at all, but as a man intuitively know what’s going on here.
