Do you still have to pay Child Support with 50/50 custody??

I'm in TX and have 50/50 and I have to pay what's called "Income Differential" Child Support (or something like that) because I had high income and she low income
In TX, 3 kids is 30% Net Monthly Income
Basically the math works out to I pay 30% of my income to her and She pays me 30% of her income to me. You take the difference and that's what I pay her monthly.

Child support is determined not only by amount of custody by each parent, but also the incomes. In most cases, men pay child support even with 50/50 custody. And in cases where the man gets sole/primary custody, the woman will pay much less than he would pay her.

Just google "your state" and "child support calculator."

It has to factor in these things;

Wages from each side.
Who pays health insurance and how much
Who pays child care costs and how much
How much parenting time there is.
If there is custody of children "not of this relationship"

In UK. Yes I do. Again it’s down to income disparity not actual needs of the children. Thankfully both mine will be off CS very soon and I get my financial freedom back and never have to deal with their mother ever again.

My ex dumped me for a loser stay-at-home dad neighbor after I went back to school in my mid-thirties and into a time-intensive career. That dude's wife threw him a "retirement" party at thirty because he his job at this insurance company was "killing his soul." After she supported both of them by working through her own schooling while he did nada and then encouraged him to go back to school to figure out his passion. Turns out that was going to the gym every day and getting really ripped along with my ex. After he and my ex blew up two families he went back to that job and they moved in together right away.

I made about $15k more than her when she left me but I had to work like 70 hrs a week. I'm forced to be a single father against everything that I believe to be most right in the world and I'll be damned if I'll be an absentee single father, so I started my own business and I work less than I did. I bet she alone makes more than me now, not to mention the fact that she lives in a two-income household.

She had a state job with a pension and I hadn't really put anything into retirement because we spent all my money on our living expenses. I had about $5k in a 401k and I gave her half of that. I paid my lawyer to draw up a DRO to allocate my portion of her pension and she told me she'd go after me for child support if I did.

It's all just a bunch of bullshit and big pile of nothing.

CS isn't really a big deal if you own yourself. My car is paid for, and I always have at least a year of rent saved up. For those struggling to pay CS, try living debt free!

It varies wildly everywhere.

I’m not in the US anymore, and ex attempted to get sole custody, even though before separation I was the stay at home parent(self employed) and that blew up in her face because we also signed a postnuptial agreement(essentially what’s your is your’s/vice versa etc…) ultimately there’s a parental agreement in place now that I get overnights, time with our son during week and weekends then more overnight time later this year, then we go back to mediation at end of this year(divorced last year) because I’m fighting for 50/50 custody.

In the end she didn’t get shit from me, zero child support etc…the only thing I agreed to pay for was daycare which I was already doing before. Our child support agreement is binding now, so she or I could go on to make millions a year and it can’t be changed. In the agreement we’ve agreed to split all his care costs(medical, school etc…) 50/50. I was extremely happy with my outcome, was able to keep all my business assets intact and walked away. She on the other hand, is not very happy; but that’s not my problem.

I will never again marry or live in such as to have the gov’t seen were defecto.

Juice just isn’t worth the squeeze.

If your incomes are substantially different, then yeah the higher earner pays child support.

I think you are new to this game. Child support is paid by men 95% of the time, even when women earn more than men, even with 50-50 or any such law. CS ranges from a few hundred dollars per month to 40% of your pretax income. Some men live under a bridge as they cannot afford CS.

Best option is to get a baby through surrogacy.
