After lurking and reading countless discussions on this sub when it comes to male-female sexual dynamics, SMV, RMV, n-count, etc I’ve observed an interesting pattern.

Those who are more “red pill” see men and women as having different roles in a romantic relationship while those who are more “blue pill” see men and women having fundamentally equivalent roles in a romantic relationship. Note that I use “red pill” and “blue pill” in no other way but to paint a picture of the two sides that frequently debate in this group. I don’t necessarily think “blue pill” is a good name for the side that argues with those who are more red pill but you get the point.

Think about age gap discussions as an example. Those who are more red pill are generally ok with large age gap relationships, specifically when the man is much older. Meanwhile, those who are more blue pill see this as creepy, vile and manipulative. I think it comes down to this fundamental understanding of the role men vs women play in a relationship. Those who are more red pill could see this gap as healthy as they see the man taking on the role as provider, protector, and guide in the relationship so the large gap to them is natural to that aim. Meanwhile, those who are more blue pill see romantic relationships essentially like best friends who also have a sexual relationship. The large gap therefore calls that into question: how can you be best friends and co-partners with someone who’s at a completely different life stage as yourself?

Or take the n-count discussion. Those who are more red pill see sexual relationships as fundamentally different if a man does it versus if a woman does it. To those who are more red pill, women have a “role” as the gatekeepers of sex. Women who are promiscuous are not seen as unattractive because they’ve been “defiled” by sex but because they haven’t lived up to their “role”. Meanwhile, those who are more blue pill do not ascribe such a role to men or women so men or women having sex (typically) means nothing. More so, it’s a matter of if the two people coming together have similar sexual history.

As a final point to argue my point (and to help both sides empathize with one another) I will give analogy that best captures the other side’s view of romantic relationships.

To Red Pillers: Look into the relationship between Andrew Tate and his younger brother Tristen Tate. They are best friends, they live together, they trust each other with their lives, and they even share a bank account. If you were to add sex to that, this is what those who are more blue pill see as a healthy and ideal romantic relationship.

To Blue Pillers: Look at adults who live at their parents’ house. Even though they are grown adults who can do what they want and have their independence there is still a relationship they have with their parents that wouldn’t be akin to hanging with your best friend. The parent has a role and the child has a role in the dynamic and these roles are not interchangeable. There’s a certain level of responsibility and authority the parent has. And in cases where the child has utmost respect for the parent and the parent honors the freedom of the child then this is more akin to the ideal relationship that red Pillers envision.
