Before Online Dating/Social Media Took Over (2000s' and before): Just got a stable job, be a decent person, don't become a slob physically, you'll have a good chance and getting your "equivalent" as a man.

During the "transition" period - explosion of instagram/online dating/onlyfans starts (2010-2020): 80/20 rules starts becoming the norm. Now you have to start intentional doing things like looksmaxing, working on your "game" extensively. Basically, you have to improve yourself fairly extensively in a few strong facets - game / looks / finances in order to attract a women who is your "equivalent". The thing is, most men could still acheive it with some work on the side and it made men BETTER. towards the end of the era 80/20 starts become 90/10.

The "New Norm" - Modern Dating Market Akin to Tribal Days and "soft harerms": 90/10 rule now becomes the 95/5 rule. Here is where we start falling apart. Before, a lot of men could dedicate themselves to improving and somewhat succeed. Now, it is starting to become infeasible for most men WHO DO improve themselves to find their equivalent. I think the REAL sadness is that now, followin your own "compass", building the life you want, your health, your finances, your career, going be your own aim and purpose is still not enough - as the modern dating dyanimcs have reached a pure lunacy and attracting women based on dopamine induced tactics and wanting the best of the best of the best (sir!). you have to get professional pictures that show off your best assets, including filtering of blemishes and optimization of facial angles and taking totally staged pictures in order to compete as a man. Picture of you holding a puppy while looking off in the sunset at a tropical beach in the maldives at sunset with your abs (visually modified using a filter) glistening in the sun. getting a "Sick fade bro" haircut and tailored shirt and renting your friends motorcycle to lean on prior to your online dating photoshoot to compete. Also, you have to text/and talk/game like a pro - because you are competeing against so many men who are doing the same thing to gain a competitive edge. Don't believe me - look at the explosion in guides/lessons/coaching specifically tailored to text game, or services out there for "onlined dating pictures". So you COULD be a financially successful guy, that's in good shape, has a good friend group etc and you will look vanilla next to the 25 men who have honed their text game, online dating pictures, and in person date-gamed. To the women - it just seems "natural" - -and extremely polished game becomes the "new norm". The thing is - if you are a guy who is busy as fuck dedicating time to your career, health, relationships - you are going to have to spend an inordinate amount of time outside your true passions in order to learn all this stuff to compete - this becomes an issue. In the end, you just end up outsourcing it all and hiring a professional photographer, an adminstrator to help you with messaging/contact your online dates, and a dating coach to help you through what/when to say things in the first few weeks of dating.

Hence, we have reached the point where even those that are "high quality men" can no longer rely on their high quality lives by itself in order to attract their equivalents - they will have to add "optimization of dating skillls" to their arsenal*

*Of course, does not apply to True Naturals, incredibly good looking men, or men in conservative areas. mostly applies to Modern progressive areas.
