*Disclaimer - this is coming from anectodal experience from my personal life as well as the lives of a few other men I know who are struggling with something similar.

I've noticed a stark trend that is now so obvious its self-evident and scary at the same time - in my dating life as well as the dating lives of a few guys I am close too - Being a Emotionally Available and Ready for a Relationships is Pushing Women Away and Killing attraction. I'm beginning to actually think that women are turned off by men who act emotionally available

No, I'm not talking about exhibiting the stereotypical needy behavior - like venting about your life problems on the first date. I'm talking about being 1) intentional with what you want 2) communicating to the women that you would like to see her again / are interested 3) setting up dates/communicating in between dates to show you are thinking about her.

let's compare my situation a few years ago to today:

few years ago: Still working on myself, not fully confident in who I was, did not want a relationship at all, I was wracked with anxiety/personal issues. I'd go on dates, often times hook up if things went well, and I'd always evade the question when women asked "do you want something serious". I was not giving "I want a relationship" vibe at all. I'd usually fade/ghost women - sleep with them and then just leave. afterwards they would always come back - usually 5-7 days later..wanting to see me again. like clockwork. the more I pushed them away, the less I communicated, the more they wanted to see me. I ended up with a few women falling in love with me, when I told them I was not ready for a relationship at all, was a horrible communicator, etc. And these were not "women with past trauma" that would explain why they kept pursuing me (emotionally unavailable man). They were often times attractive, secure, successful women.

Now (the past year): Awesome, I finally feel more confident and secure. My career is doing amazing, I've nailed my Goals. I went to therapy and addressed a lot of my issues and worked through them. I've also noticed women have started to actually approach me going out (never happened before), I look better (worked on my fitness/style), and honestly feel great. So I start going on dates with the intent to find a partner (eventually). This time, I'm honest about what I want (a relationship eventually), communicate and try to make the women feel valued/add value, and in general open up emotionally more. I'd go on dates, have fun, end up getting intimate, and things would be going great - I'd tell the women that I am interested in her/like her and want to see her again. no lovebombing, just normal "hey I enjoy your company/like you , let's do this again". this is something I did NOT do before. before I ran after getting sex. The first girl went from interested to fading. I thought it was a fluke. then the next one. and next one. and next one. Women would go from "wow you are incredible / I like you / etc." to "I don't know I'm just confused / I think I need to prioritize my career / etc"- which were obvious excuses. One particular poignant example was a girl who was all over me - telling me about how sexy I was / talented / about how she was so excited to meet someone she finally liked and started talking about future dates, etc. I told her one night "I feel close to you" after we had slept together - she snuggled warmly up and smiled. next morning I got a text out of nowhere "I don't think this relationship is going to work".

So I did a little experiment - I went back to my previous fuckboy ways and I just hooked up and ghosted/acted unavailable. waited 5+ days to text. barely responded to texts. cold. unemotional. and it started to work again.

Now, this is NOT just me. its my good buddy who is very similar to me in that his life was in shambles before and now he has his "shit together" - yet he can't get anyone to stick around and previously he always seem to find relationships. It's also the countless posts I see on reddit with themes such as "why do I keep wanting men who don't want me". It's beyond that too - its the dating self books (like corey wayne) that specifically state that you MUST LET WOMEN CHASE you, and that the strategy to make a women fall for you is to literally hang out, hook up, and "leave her guessing" and uncertain about where you two stand.

I believe that being "emotionally available", even as a secure confident man, is actually an attraction killer for the vast majority of women. why? simple - it creates too much certainty, which eliminates anxiety. anxiety is mistaken for attraction. lack of anxiety is mistaken for lack of feelings.

A man who is emotionally avialable will let a women know he is interested and likes her, which eliminates the chances of anxiety to occur, and therefore destroys attraction. the women is left thinking "why don't I like him..he's great? I'm so confused".

The irony that the best strategy to get into a serious relationship is to embody the mindset that the last thing you want is a relationship.
