I can understand a man getting married if his religious faith prescribes it. So, there has to be some metaphysical benefit, to him, for entering into the union. Otherwise, there is no good reason, not children or taxes, that outweigh the negatives. Sure, some women will leave if they don't get the ring/paperwork so, you may lose out on a good one but, is she really that good if she dumps you over lack of an official marriage?

You don't, but I don't know why anyone would want to have kids with some random chick outside a relationship. I mean, unless you aren't interested in being part of the kids' lives and you're wealthy enough to not care about child support cost. If you are interested in actually raising the kids, it seems like you probably want to have them with someone worth being in an LTR with.

But marriage is not the same as an LTR. Lots of people have kids in an LTR and either later or never get married.

There are plenty of women out there whose focus is to find a quality man, get pregnant multiple times, and raise a family. They aren't at the club and they certainly aren't on Tinder 99.99% of the time

When you are a quality man, living his awesome life, these women present themselves in subtle, Feminine ways.

It depends on your philosophy and belief system.

To a Muslim, marriage is half of faith. We believe that women and men are complements to each other and cannot live a fulfilled life alone. We were created from one soul and join to complete the circle and elevate the soul to a higher starus. Think yin and yang.

Perhaps it's because you have to learn to be a better man to make a marriage work, or perhaps it's like we joke that it's because it takes half your faith to deal with a wife.

That doesn't mean that SHE is the one though. The concept of soul mates doesn't exist though we believe that a spouse is providence from God.

Divorce is allowed though not encouraged. That is why you need to vette correctly and not scrape the asphalt for a mate.

We also believe men can marry multiple women concurrently or in series - that this is the way God intended our nature, though you will find that different cultures vary on application and interpretation. In addition, we are limited to four at a time as we have ethical rules for justice and equity among them.

In regards to children, you can research many studies on the success rates of children raised by both parents to those raised in single parent or broken households. The family unit is the smallest unit in a society, and if it's broken, the society is broken, and we believe that rampant fornication and adultery corrodes and corrupts the soul and community.

In short, unless your beliefs and life philosophy give you a reason, then you don't have a reason.

You carry some resentfulness with your current Girlfriend, this could be a reason for you not to even think about marriage.

I’m not saying that you should only settle when you find the unicorn, spoiler alert, unicorns do not exist.

Look out for the red flags in the potential wife, your current girl seems to show a few that would alarm me.

Religion
Country still offers Marraige 1.0 (Saudi Arabia, Pakistan & a couple of other countries, I believe).

Legally married? Um, No way. It is very nice once you reach a certain point of attractiveness to have a woman there that adds value to your life by supporting your mission and acts as an amplifier for what you are doing. "A good relationship should be effortless"- The Rational Male

A good LTR allows you to put your energy where it belongs and not into women and the more successful you become the easier it becomes to have women coming to you without applying much effort.

A primary reason for a marriage-like relationship is because it requires a much tighter game than just spinning plates and ultimately you continue to grow stronger because shit testing and comfort testing never ends because hypergamy is never fully assuaged.

Marriage might be more palatable if you live in a country with fair divorce laws, though definitely not the case in the US. Right now it is really a tough sell. If the woman plans to give you a bunch of children and contribute substantially domestically then one could justify materially providing for her but otherwise women should work like a man. They fought for independence and that comes with responsibility.
