No because the 30 year old has life experience, just not sexual experience. A 30 year old pays taxes and has been working and living independently. Obviously not all 30 year olds and not all 19 year olds meet this description, it’s a generalization. The 30 year old has had 12 years of adulthood to learn about themselves and how they navigate life. A 19 year old has had 1.

Ideally the 30yo has plenty of experience with other close, mutually respectful interpersonal relationships as a point of reference for navigating the romantic one.

An actual equivalent would be a 30yo who hasn't had any meaningful interpersonal relationships since the age of 19 for some strange reason.

the difference is the 19 year old didn’t have the capacity to know better, and she didn’t have the capacity understand the emotional weight of dating a much older man - as a 30 year old man, while you might not have the experience, you do have the capacity to fully get what’s happening and understand the impact of each decision - lack of experience may hurt your general understanding, but being much older you have the ability to understand the weight of it.

I really can tell if this an attempt to justify dating 19 year olds or victimize yourself, but either way the difference should be clear.

Why would you even make this kind of comparison? Inexperienced how? A nineteen year old doesn’t have the same life experiences that a thirty year old does. They are not even legally old enough to drink and are barely starting life outside of high school. Are you referring to sex? So you want a young woman who barely entered adulthood because you’re insecure with a woman your own age, is that it?

If you’re wondering why you can’t get hired as a teacher, this is why. They probably picked up that there’s something off about you.

If we are only speaking about sexual experience sure. The reality is that you will be at completely different stages of life if she is fresh out of high school and you have worked for 7-8 years and bought a home etc, you have way more life experience.

If you are both okay with that and consenting to it I personally don’t think there is anything wrong with it, but these are some key elements that I think you are missing.

On the subject of dating, I dont think 30 & 19 is compatible.

However, this "how old is 19" discussion seems so arbitrary & inconsistent. You say 19 is a child & too young to date. OK.

How about driving a car? Should a 19 year old be able to drive? Auto accidents kill more people than anything. We wouldnt let a 12 year old child drive, so shouldnt that also apply to 19 yo' children?

Getting a tattoo? Getting elective surgery? Getting a bank loan? Buying a gun? Buying cigarettes or (legal) marijuana products? Renting a car? Performing in porn? Ordering alcohol? Military service?

I think its very important these questions have a consistent & logical answer; because age limits are meant to protect the inexperienced or naive from harm.

Right now its pure chaos. "Its OK for a 19 year old to get fucked on camera for money, but not OK if they are fucked privately in a consensual relationship".

There is. That power imbalance is biological. At 30 years old, a woman knows her time is finite. Almost all 19 year olds don’t. Or don’t care.

Conversely a 30 year old virgin, can put in the work. To become relatively successful with women. In a reasonable amount of time.
