I haven’t listened in a long time (it’s toxic as hell lol), but I remember the girls on Call Her Daddy saying something like “5 or 6, die for that dick.”

Essentially meaning that girls who are less attractive are usually more desperate for the validation of an attractive male, and therefore more likely to do anything for him or compromise on what she wants to keep him around. (Although being sexually open/available/enthusiastic was also a strategy they were telling girls to help them keep their man from looking elsewhere).

Similarly to how some women will keep around a man they’re not super interested in because he does nice things for her, some men will keep around a woman they’re not super into because they’re getting sex.

However just like the women in that scenario don’t usually commit to the men they string along, neither will the men in that scenario commit to the women they string along.

The attractiveness threshold for men to have sex with a woman is wayyyyyy lower than the attractiveness threshold for men to have a relationship with a woman.

Fboys don't do a lot of "pursuing." They vet almost purely for sexual availability. And due to hypergamy, women below them by a SMV metric point-of-view may be more likely to be sexually available. Alternatively, due to sheer numbers, fboys may want a greater volume of variety than is readily available within their own SMV bracket. As women often kid themselves that whoever they're seeing sexually "should" be open to being involved with them in a relationship, this gets described as manipulative, but fboys rarely actually try to pretend to be anything other than an fboy. They don't have the time.

Men who bother with pursuing relationships with women they see as below themselves on the SMV scale are usually insecure, have a scarcity mentality, or are just too lazy to put the effort in needed to keep a SMV woman (ie, they're going to lower their own SMV, or they've been putting on a facade that's more attractive than they really are, and don't want it to become an issue). We've even got men in the comments here admitting they'd feel jealous easily if they got their ideal type for a relationship, not realizing it's a self-own.

I'm a woman so this is just my opinion

I think average woman are less inclined to rely on their looks to get attention

This may help ground them in reality & they have more time to spend on hobbies & pursuits that instill good character, or make that person well rounded & interesting

Perhaps average women are more inclined to be grateful to one day have the simple things in life that are actually meaningful, like family, children, partner, marriage, homemaking

Perhaps beautiful woman have been fed the princess lines more, inclined to focus on an exciting glamorous career, building her online influencer profile, or wading through a sea of potential suitors to select from.

Man meets a good, average woman & instead of her treating him like just an option, perhaps she is more inclined to be content with him & treat him like a King, which makes him feel good (as she is his Queen)

She has invested her time in hobbies & this makes her interesting. She is not vain & this makes her more appealing than other women who beautiful but boring. She may have spent more time with her family, which gives her a better framework to be his wife & mother of kids in future. She is content with the simple pleasures rather than constantly wanting more because she "deserves" it.

Maybe on average, regular sweet girls statistically just haven't been as completely corrupted & spoilt by society

Of course someone could be average looking & try to fill an insecurity by sleeping with lots of men & focusing on selfish things too

It's not that real, but here's some reasons it might seem that way:

Fboys will chase everything, attractive or not. Continuing conquest and increasing numbers are the definition of Fboys.
With less attractive women, it is easier for men to feel more confident and less intimidated, increasing their attractiveness to others and therefore making it easier to close.

In truth though, attractive women are not any more difficult to close than unattractive women. In fact it is often the opposite, as less attractive women may have their guard up as they may be more wary of being ghosted.

I tend to think guys who date down in SMV either lack confidence, or they think they’ll have an easier time. That doesn’t mean he’s “manipulating” her, it just means he doesn’t want to put up with a lot of drama. Or maybe he just really likes her cooking.

There is, of course, the “hoe-flation” argument, because online validation machines like Instagram have convinced 4s that they are 10s.

Its also down to how the individual views themselves as that effects how they choose a partner higher or lower than them

Myself, I am told I'm a 6 in terms of looks, 9 in personality, 7.5 overall (society standards)

But I was mentally abused as a teenager: Ex boyfriend calling me names, cheating on me, being bullied again usually by men

So between 18 when I left my ex till I met my current partner at 22 I dated guys who were literally 1s to 3s because of my low self esteem and thought I didnt deserve better

At one point I went on a tinder date with an 8/9 guy but didn't continue because I wasn't used to a man with an expensive car, his own company, rich parents so I only did two dates But, he also was quite boring to me so that played a part. I am "wierd" in personality and his conversations were really blockheaded and I just didn't know how to interact with this type of man

Think my parents thought WTF am I doing 🙃

I've known a few fboys in my life and, in my experience, they'll chase women who are attractive but lack confidence. There's that stereotype of the over confident ahole with the vapid or self-conscious hot girl. I've never seen them with less attractive women (otherwise they probably would have come after me, ew). But that's just how fboys work. Most men don't think or date that way.

Hmm I don’t think they prefer them as such? I think they just find it easier on the basis of averages to “date down” because someone average will be wowed by someone giving them attention. It’s no different to hot girls using average guys to do things for them or be in their friend zone.

I don’t think it’s so much to do with looks as it is about personality. It’s the way a woman projects herself that matters to men. I’ve seen both good and average looking women being manipulated.

Fboys generally go for women who aren’t very self assured and have low standards because it’s easy to gain their confidence. Any woman who knows her worth and is confident about what she wants isn’t easy to mess around with.
