Divorce is the most shitty thing you can go through. It’s never the best thing that can happen to anyone, however it can be better than being stuck in a loveless, hopeless, and crushing relationship. I’ve been divorced 9 years now and it wasn’t until a good 4 years after that I felt “normal” again. I don’t miss her anymore. Don’t miss the lies, the anxiety, or the heartache. If I was still married, I’d be constantly looking over my shoulder to see if she’s cheating or selling me lies. It’s not the best thing, but it can be better than the situation you were in.

Together 27 years, it took me about 2 to feel ” not awful”. At three, starting to feel sort of normal. What helps me is I remember all the fights that I didn’t even know what they were about, the nights going to bed all pissed off, the anxiety of walking on eggshell. I don’t have that anymore.

I just got back from a vacation on Hawaii. My kids and I hiked to a beautiful waterfall. It was muddy, and it rained a little bit. It was an awesome time, and I kept thinking about my ex.

Thinking about how she would have bitched to get up early, bitched about the mud, bitched about the rain, etc. So you miss what you thought was a happy family, but also miss out on a TON of aggravation.

Ah, I don't care about that. But I do know this as a fact:

Someday she'll get tired of her own shit.

I was her cleanup crew. Car accidents (avg one per year). Bounced payments at Starbucks. A candy crush bill (serious here). She bought a new car without saying a word and she didn't even check the cost of insuring it.

Life is easier without her. I'd imagine life is more difficult without me. She forced the divorce.

Yes, my exwife said the same thing;

"You'll never be able to live without me." I lived just fine before I met you and I'm living my best life now that you're gone.

"You'll never find anyone that would ever want to be with you." I've been very happily remarried for a few years now.

"You'll regret this one day." I have never been able to conjure up the smallest toenail clipping of regret in divorcing you.

She lied to you through out your marriage, why would you expect her not to lie to you during the divorce. That statement was more for her satisfaction, has nothing to do with her trying to fulfill a promise.

Yea but only in a Character Forming sense hun… next time I’m going with the plane crash in the outback , the scenery is nicer I anticipate also less getting arrested and far cheaper on costs plus possibly even less painful overall.

I keep getting "I'm happier and healthier now than i ever was with you." First of all, you were 110 lbs with me and you look like you've lost 15 lbs since you ran off. Skeletons aren't healthy. And if you're so happy why do you need to keep repeating it all the time. I don't care, sounds like you're trying to convince yourself this was a good idea.
