There's a post on a major women's community right now that has a story. The short of it is that the OP, a woman, made several cakes over the week to practice a new recipe. Her most recent cake was meant to go to the co-worker, but her husband ate half of it. She had told him that it was off limits, but he forgot, or he wasn't listening, and he had a bunch.

In response, she openly admits that she "slapped him on the shoulder," and then "yelled at him."

Slapping someone on the shoulder is physical abuse. It is domestic violence.

Yelling at someone is verbal abuse. It is domestic violence.

Despite this, virtually nobody in the post that is upvoted well into the thousands seems to recognize or care. Everyone is siding with her, as if she is a poor victim here, and many are saying that men are trash.

When I pointed out that she was abusive, I was instantly banned by the mod staff.

I really wonder sometimes. Why is it that women can freely hit men and other women will always stand up for them? Does it just not register as abuse when a woman does it? Do they not recognize that even if it's not painful, it's incredibly demeaning and can inflict significant psychological trauma when a woman slaps a man?
