Well, your conception of masculine and feminine traits doesn’t sound objective, so it sounds like you’re admiring stuff in a woman that’s not really masculine, like a woman who can make her own way in the world. And a man who takes care of his kids isn’t feminine either. Also, what you find attractive in these cases are a result of your beliefs.

It's because they are just clusters of behaviour, not something that defines a gender. Take being violent and aggressive. That's something that is MORE prevalent in men than in women, but not exclusively so. It's not MANLY or MASCULINE to be violent and aggressive, except it kind of is. But that doesn't mean that you should lean into that and try to cultivate it.

Everyone wants tenderness. That's apparently a feminine trait. Everybody wants someone who can get stuff done. Apparently (outside the home) that's a masculine trait.

Except everybody has both of them.

Because extremes are rarely attractive and both femininity and masculinity as concepts have attractive traits and traits required to have to be a functioning member of society and a good partner, friend, parents etc.

Even in Disney cartoons characters usually have a mix of traits btw.

I think women want men in touch with their emotions because men who have little emotional intelligence and are like brick walls are not great partners. Being a stoic, emotionless wall is a caricuture of masculinity that isn't actually appealing to be with on a day-to-day basis. Besides, those men are cropping up emotions and they will come out explosively, especially in anger, which most men certainly do show, despite their bravado about controlling their emotions and never crying. Who wants to have kids with a guy who can't take care of kids? Who wants a guy who can't express himself?

Besides I, personally, love dainty, girly girls, don't know why, we're all different.

Probably because the cardinal guideposts for traditional masculinity and femininity represent bullet points that, if followed to the letter, come across as extreme, burdensome and offputting. In practice they have value when followed as a general rule. I believe humans are also unique in that, unlike many other animals, the most extreme markers of femininity and masculinity are not necessarily regarded as the most attractive. In many other organisms for example, the most masculine traits are equal to the most attractive ones for males (eg colors, size, span, strength, plumage, size and aesthetic appeal of genitalia, other secondary sex characteristics).

Women want men with both masculine and feminine traits while men also want women with feminine and some masculine traits. We need a healthy balance of both.

Assoiciating femininity with running to her man for everything, being sheltered, and wanting to be a delicate little princess would be very good reasons why femininity gets a bad wrap and why women wouldn’t want to be feminine.

This is completely subjective and based on your cultural upbringing.

The things you listed as masculine and feminine aren't even necessarily so.

In terms of personality and temperament, the average man and the average woman is not that different, you will find more variance between individual men and women than between the average of each.

There's nothing masculine nor feminine about being stupid, emotional(be it crying or quick to anger).

Most women in my experience would lose respect for a man who is weak enough to cry in public for anything but a death of a family member, and majority of men are massively turned off in the long term by unagreeable and hostile women.

100% masculine or feminine is a caricature/novel and doesn't exist. Vast majority of people see no attraction to the outward signs of lacking dimorphism in the opposite sex and especially not the extremes of the social acceptable parts.

The rigid definition of what is 'masculine' and 'feminine' is the problem.

'Masculine' doesn't mean 'emotionless' and 'feminine' doesn't mean 'weak.'

People are a mix of traits. A man why cries is no less a man than one who has been taught not to. A woman who can change a tyre herself is no less a woman than a feeble princess.

I love (IRL and fictional) characters/people who are a bit of everything. I think it makes them less predictable, makes me want to discover them more.

Also I think that nature isn't black or white, so if someone is presenting themselves as 100% masc or 100% fem, that are surely hiding something.

because humanity has the ability to think critically, assess situations, understand and empathize with different traits and cooperation amongst humans creates the most satisfaction. A man who is 100% masculine would be a liability, as would be a woman who is 100% feminine. Its a mark of wisdom and understanding of the world and people around you imo - to be able to look at certain traits and use them as they fit the situations, or fill out gaps and understanding of the world and those around you

A concept that resonates with me is men need to be in touch with his feminine side, and women need to be in touch with her masculine side - but not let that side control you, but rather, guide you when you need them. An old celtic proverb reflects this perfectly and is something i try to partly live by, “don’t give a man a sword until he learns how to dance”

It's not, at least for women. Women might be willing to trade a little bit of masculinity for safety, security, etc. but women like mostly masculine men.

I don't think most people agree with you. I think maybe in theory possibly but not in practice.

I'm 100% masculine and my girlfriend is 100% feminine. And that's wayyyyy better. I mean I started a successful business and am an MMA fighter, she's a stay at home pageant queen who likes to cook. I'm 16 years older. And we both go crazy for how gendered each of us is.

So do other people though. That's why I say not in practice. Yeah most people say a good mix is good... then why do we get lots of attention from other people? Lots of girls come at me and men make comments about her but I think they are smart enough not to come at her since they know me lol.

Masculine behavior is literally unique things about men that attract women and vice versa for femininity. It's a biological attraction not a I thought this through and I like it. Really gives you a I'm wild for this person and idk why feeling. I'd recommend trying an ultra feminine woman sometime, they are very rare in our society.

FYI women don't like men who cry. That's a test. Many men have failed it and can tell you women don't actually like that.
