Oh boy. My divorce was 4 years ago now. It was fairly brutal especially because it was during lockdown and COVID and all that. Highly contentious. Since then, my ex has alienated me from my children and her new spouse is emotionally and physically abusive. SHe doesn't let me have my visitations or any contact with my children. I had a lot of instability in the four years since. I had to move a lot, went through several jobs and layoffs, etc. Things are finally stabilizing for me now. My oldest is struggling a lot. Acting out in school, abusing drugs, etc. My ex finally reached out for me to see if I'd help. Of course I said that I would. She wanted me to take full custody of my oldest, basically so she wouldn't have to parent a difficult child. So I started to go through the process of making sure that I could legally take full custody and alter our decree. When I told her this, she exploded. She didn't want any changes on paper. Of course she wouldn't. She only want me as an ATM, and any threat to her money would be seen as unacceptable. So she took our son back and doubled down on the no contact with the kids. Basically threatening me with a restraining order.

So now I'm going full nuclear option on her. I'm tired of being alienated. I want to help my son. I hired a lawyer and I'm coming after her. 4 years of trying to keep the peace hasn't worked out. I just know how horrible of a knock down fight this is going to be and expensive too. But it's worth it for my kids. Anyway, I just needed to vent.
