Hello, it's me again, your random fish. Since I'm in the middle of upgrading my wardrobe, I decided to shop around yesterday.

Setting:

I went to a H&M and I noticed this really cute girl while I was shopping and I saw her eyes through her mask and I had to give her a compliment.

"Hey, I think you have absolutely beautiful eyes! Enjoy your shopping!"

She looks stunned by taken aback but obviously flattered, and said thanks.

The "hook":

I went back to my shopping, she went to the changing room to try something on.

I was browsing the chill short sleeve shirt section and I saw one I absolutely love which matches my outfit. She came out of her changing room, saw me and shyly said that I should try it on, she thinks it's gonna look good on me.

I told her I already dress like a monochrome traffic light. Do I really wanna add more black and white into my wardrobe?

She giggled and asked me if I've even seen a monochrome traffic light. She pulled out her phone, googled monochrome traffic light, and all she got was something like this.

I replied with, oh great, now I think I look like a cartoon character. She giggled.

As I wanted to go and try out the outfit, I asked her to come with me and wait outside the changing rooms. I went in to try it out, came out and striked a cheesy pose in front of everyone and shouted out in front of a lot of people "how do I look?"

She giggled embarrassingly while hitting my chest. I think she was surprised at them as she left her hand there for a little while.

I decided that I had my fun interaction, I wanted to go to another store.

I told her: Hey it's been fun. I wanna go to another store now! Wanna exchange numbers so we can get together some time?

She gave me her phone to type in my number and I did the same for her. The picture of the monochrome traffic light is still there.

I jokingly said, I see you've not gotten over me yet. She giggled and I finally paid for my shirt and made my way out of the store. She asked if I wanted to shop together, I respectfully declined as I told her I liked doing my shopping alone, but I'll text you and we can go out next time.

Lessons I learned:

As my previous post highlighted, I was an incel. Yes my previous cold approach ended up in the kill, however, part of my change in mindset is understanding that not every cold approach will end that way. I had another goal which was only to give out a genuine compliment to a girl and by being myself, I ended up getting a phone number and a date this weekend. I guess people have always told me I have a nice personality, just that I was this obese short person that no one wanted to date, but now that I am actively working on myself, I just have to fix my black pilled trauma. It's funny how the two problems kinda changed from all our experiences.

A part of my old mindset, was always overthinking what I needed to say to get a girl to sleep with me. But it never ended with what I want. As I shifted that mindset, the vibe feels a lot more genuine. I am just having fun interacting with girls I find attractive and their reciprocating somehow and I'm genuinely surprised at how little is required. I'm not ripped, I'm just slightly above average in looks and I'm only 5'5 but I think the fact that I take care of myself is really obvious by the way I dress / carry myself this is what people mean by focusing on things that you can change and don't sweat what you can't.

I used to overcomplicate social stuff. I'm not where I wanna be yet in terms of mental health but my therapy got moved up. One of the things I learned from my session was that I'm only afraid of being judged because I'm also judgemental myself, and by being less judgemental of other people and by being less judgemental of the people around me and having a more positive outlook on people / life in general have opened more doors. Just being on self improvement doesn't work, put yourself out there. Talk to people, smile and enjoy life!

Well, that's all from your random fish and wish me luck in my date, best of all I already know what to wear.

Edit: thank you for the silver stranger!
