Yea I agree, the amount of matches I would get on tinder dropped significantly and I'm not sure what the reason is either. Bumble seems to have better quality girls in my area, but the matches there were slow also. In addition to the drop in the amount of matches I would get, the quality of girls that I would match with dropped also. I deleted both apps recently and have been doing well at daytime events on the weekend and brunch spots that have more of a party vibe to them.

Couple of things I think are going on with tinder.

You’re older. if you’ve had a 0 or 5 birthday since you last were on you may just be getting filtered out from their settings.
Tinder is about the money now. I’m convinced they artificially manipulate the app to encourage you to spend money.

3.women are moving off tinder and becoming more picky. You never get that match who says things like “oh idk what I’m doing my friend told me to download it” or anything like that anymore. They don’t have an excuse to hide behind anymore so they are more selective with their matching.

This has to do with a couple things, women on tinder were alot less picky in its early days. Tinder is also trying to squeeze out every little bit of profit they can, so unless you are paying to be at the front of the stack of profiles that girls see, ie boosting or superliking everyone, you likely are going to be seen by very few girls.

What I think happened in the last year or so is that the algorithm changed. I remember when it was still unlimited swipes and I got a lot of matches, then it slowed down A LOT. I recently deleted my account and reinstalled it to reset it and got about 50 matches in a week. Now it slowed down again. I really want to know the algorithm.

Tinder is a big bussiness. They want to get as much money as they can. Their algorithms to give you matches are sophisticated and classified. For instance if you pay tinder to get better matches, Tinder becomes aware that you are a client who can pay. It will give you bad matches to make you to pay more. So either be prepared to pay tinder regularly or don't pay at all.

How long have you had the app? They instituted a change a few months ago that shows your account to fewer matches when it is new. This was to prevent people from resetting their account every two weeks. The apps in general became more sophisticated as to how it reacted to your inputs and how it bins accounts based on who swipes on you and how often.

Online dating apps are more to milk money from people through distractions and false hopes. Not worth the time anymore.

I used to get at least one, or maybe two matches, a day but now I get maybe 3 a week. I'm not really sure what happened, but I'd assume it has something to do with the fact I stopped paying for Tinder Plus. The funny thing about it is I stopped paying for Tinder Plus because I stopped getting matches anyway. It's just their algorithm, they favour new male accounts and females over guys like us, don't let it get you down, Tinder's a wasteland anyway

I've found that tinder prioritizes boosts a lot now. I have tinder plus and my best matches are with boost, period. If I don't boost, I'll get a few likes that day. If I boost, it's about 10-15 and they are better quality. It didn't used to be this bad. Yet another reason to meet them offline.

I'm gonna give a different opinion. I agree with the posters above too actually. The algorithm has played a role now that it didn't before. However use tinder from a girls phone if you can sometime. The amount of guys on tinder has gone up. The app is very mainstream now. Therefore the amount of matches girls get are insane. Therefore they get even pickier. That's human nature. I looked at my friends tinder. She's a cute girl, but not a super model by any means. She was getting super likes by very attractive guys who were a couple years older. They had kick ass profiles. So also make sure your tinder game is on point and just realize that there's hefty competition out there as a guy. Being above average isn't enough to do VERY well on the app.

Depends on the area. I go home to visit my parents in the Florida panhandle and I get next to nothing. Some cities I get a lot, some I don’t. It really just depends on the culture of the area. Everyone in Florida seems to be attracted to super cut beach guys, which is not me. Don’t get me wrong I’m in pretty good shape and I’m easy on they eyes, but I don’t fit the archetype that women in that region are generally attracted to.

However I head over to east coast cities and I hit those matches left and right. The beaches there aren’t great so people don’t go as much, and suddenly that beachy dude isn’t the standard anymore.

The old days of tinder (when it first came out) were insane. Unlimited swipes. People throwing themselves at each other. No pay to play. No deceitful algorithms. It’s terrible now. I realize standards of beauty change and elevate all the time but man it’s just not what it used to be. The algorithm is definitely in place to limit visibility of male profiles. I also think there’s a whole culture of pleasure from attention that has blossomed with social media in the meantime. Women and i suppose some men get such dopamine from being fawned over that they don’t actually need to follow through with a hookup or date.

What I read somewhere was that once you uninstall Tinder, they push down your profile, so it's just that your profile is being viewed by less number of girls.

I'd suggest that you either delete your account and make a new one or buy a subscription of Tinder plus/gold for at least a month, so that it boosts the visibility of your profile.

Same thing happened to me. Went from getting 3-10 matches a day (big city) to just 1 every 3 days. They’re probably gonna try to get people to start paying for basic tinder or somethin.. just decided o deactivate and delete the app. Been on there for about 5 years off and on and never really got anything out of it past a handful of hook ups and one super casual relationship that went on for like 2 months.

Yeah, I've noticed the same thing. When I was using the app a couple of years ago, hell, even last year, I'd usually end up with 10+ matches every 12 hours, but the number has dropped significantly. Can't rule out the fact that I turned 30 in the meantime I spose.

They changed it to EOL matching a few years ago. I have a hack I'm halfway done on getting around that. Tinder used to be great to bot but now I barely use it.

Also, alot of women moved on to competitors: tinder used to have both relationship and hookup women, but now less due to the stigma(tinder used to be the only game in town that wasn't match.com or okcupid.com).

The same has happened to me! I first got on tinder a couple of years ago and got blown up. Then I restarted it with pretty much the same pictures and everything, and I’ve had 2 matches in a week! I don’t know what’s changed, because I’m above average looks and I’m ripped because I’m a personal trainer and still nothing. I’m wondering if it changes from the first time to any other time. Maybe the first time you sign up they flash your profile everywhere to keep you hooked. But if you sign up again it knows you’ve done it before and doesn’t give you the same exposure 🤷‍♂️ idk because I’m not the only one I know that this has happened to.

I’ve had matches that NEVER show up when I swipe. There were plenty of “dating” websites and apps when Tinder started. Tinder used to be a NSA thing. Now so many profiles are saying things like, “no hook-ups.” So now it’s being treated like a dating app, and Tinder accommodates that, as long as you keep using the app, and maybe pay for a Gold membership. The algorithm now seems to keep you away from matches, if someone swipes right on you, the less of a chance they’ll come up when you’re swiping. I mean, if you successfully meet someone on Tinder, you’ll probably delete the app, which Tinder doesn’t want. Now everything is “pay us to get Gold.” Well, I tried gold for a month, NOT WORTH IT!” They need a new app, that is what Tinder used to be. Something to meet someone in your area quickly, and cut through the BS. EVERY app out there now, claims to be “free” but the free stuff just lets you create a profile, not interact with anyone. Most of these have dozens of bots that will make it look like so many girls want to talk to you, if you’d only pay for a premium membership. It’s all cash grab BS. So if you’re not getting matched like you used to, there may be minor factors, but the major factor is that Tinder is ONLY out for money, they let it be what everyone wanted at first, then they slowly made it a useless swiping app, that just wants your money.

Thought it was just me fellas…. It’s not. Tinder is a graveyard. I’ve used it on and off over the years… back in the day if you uploaded a nude pic someone would report you immediately. So I tested it out lately and put 🍆 pics… paid for membership, boosted and swiped away… not reported once lol

We need to rally and find the new app promise land… I have no clue what it is.
