I recently had an epiphany, but first let me tell you something.

I am not the 'right' type of ugly. I'm not 'ugly-masculine' or just 'ungroomed-ugly.' Nah. I'm fugly in the face, yo. Receding hairline, asymmetrical face... the works.

Knowing this has crippled my personality, my interactions, and ultimately my confidence monumentally throughout the years. Whenever I approached anyone, I could only think about my own hideousness. About my face. The way my mouth moved as I talked. The she-probably-is-embarrassed-to-talk-to-such-an-ugly-dude feeling.

I assumed an ugly personality, regardless of the fact that before I actually started paying attention to how others might perceive me, I was funny, witty, and charming as fuck. No shit.

Dumb fucking me.

So here's my epiphany: let go.

LET. FUCKING. GO.

Know that you are ugly and pay no shits to that thought. This is who you are and unless you want to go the plastic surgery route (which I am not fucking doing, ever), this is it. Assume you lost in the looks lottery and move the fuck on.

Yes, it's a ton easier being yourself and getting laid when you're handsome. And no, we are not all beautiful. Don't believe that shit. There are handsome guys, regular guys, and ugly guys. That's how it is, and I'm an ugly guy. But who cares? Well, I used to. Stupidly.

Do take care of yourself. Do exercise and follow a healthy diet. Groom. Wear something nice. Shower.

That's it. There's nothing else you can do to fix that. Stop worrying about things that are out of your hands.

LET GO. YOU LOST. WHATEVER.

I let go because I had to. Because I'm stuck with this face. I'm stuck with this receding hairline. With this patchy fucking neckbeard. SO WHAT. I'm not going to pass out opportunities to live life just because of a crippling stupid little thought, and neither should you. Fuck that.

I've embraced this mentality. I've forced myself to embrace this mentality because it literally is the only way to get out of my pathetic little rut and play the field to the fullest of my capabilities.

And guess what? IT FUCKING WORKS.

When I talk to women, I no longer linger on the thought of my physical appearance. I listen. I respond. I'm funny. I'm myself and not a self-downgraded version of who I am because I wasn't born with an impressive jawline and beautiful eyes.

She can take me or leave me, but this is who I fucking am. I'm going to have fun and bring everyone I can into my good times. And holy shit, coming to terms (for real coming to terms with that, though, and really believing it) with the fact that girls aren't all cunts that would rather be with some hot dude is fucking great.

I've seen it a lot here, and my god if it isn't true: girls are way more into personality than looks.

"Oh but everyone says that," "people who say that aren't necessarily ugly," "meeehhh."

I AM FUCKING SERIOUS. GIRLS. ARE. WAY. MORE. INTO PERSONALITY. How you handle a conversation, how you carry yourself, how you stand, how you look at people, how you behave when you're idle, how you order drinks, how you respond to shit tests.

And a nice little backhanded gift for us: when you're alpha and ugly—I swear to your mothers—you seem even more commanding because you had to work harder than the average alpha that was born with the looks, ready to play the part.

Picture an ugly dude with a hot-ass babe. Now picture a handsome guy with an equally hot-ass babe. Which of the two guys appears more interesting? Which one seems like he's got something about him? Which one piques at your curiosity more?

Damn fucking right.

Let's get our fuck on, boys.
