Dude, you need to create attraction and put your intentions clear from the get go. Just tell them that you are cute /adorable and you want to meet her. You will be surprised by the results, the girls who aren't interested will say that straight away but those who are will literally start talking more than you.

Ask the girl to introduce you to the friend or at-least say hi to her hanging in there is important. Your getting used to approaching now its time to evolve your conversation/kino/comfort. You could have said you sure you not a witch or something bring her into your imagination. Sure sometimes they might not go with it don't think of it as a loss, more of a lack of compatibility . You are here to learn and keep pushing forwards. That said Good Fucking Job though approaching!

Kudos to you dude that you're approaching as that is half the battle right there. You just need to work on your conversation skills and thinking quickly on your feet. You made a cold read on the girl which is great but you didn't have a follow up plan! Even if your cold read is wrong that's no big deal, you can thread off of it but you didn't know how. She asked why you thought she was a hairdresser and you could have transitioned into a conversation about her kick ass hair and style or whatever.

Anyway, I kind of follow a similar process with every girl I meet that begins and ends at the same point but can twist and turn between those 2 points depending how the conversation is going.

Introduction phase : exchange names, maybe quick conversation on where you live/work/go to school etc.

Phase 2: validate and qualify her. validate her by complimenting something you like about her (NOT something physical) and then use cold reads or something you discussed in the intro to qualify her. Could be her age (ONLY if she's younger than you are), what she studies or where she works etc. maybe it's her favorite music is your least favorite. Doesn't matter. Poke fun at her for something and also validate her for something else.

Ex) I love your style/taste in music or whatever but you're a teacher!? I was hoping to find my new sugar momma tonight.

Phase 3: get to know her better. so you joked around and shot the shit for a few minutes. Here you find out more about her hobbies and interests, continue to poke fun and validate/qualify and thread in and out as she says things you can "riff" off of. If she likes the same music or sports team as you don't fucking skip over that like it's nothing. Get excited and focus the conversation on that common interest for a bit.

Ex) discuss favorite music, sports, TRAVEL. Women love talking about travel you could probably talk to any girl about traveling and fuckin food for like an hour minimum. If you can't talk about travel and food with a girl for at least an hour you're boring as fuck and need to step your conversation skills up.

Parallel phase: during this entire time you should be touching her lightly at every opportunity to convey your intent, especially when you're teasing her.

Phase 4: lead her. At this point you've connected for a few minutes on some common interests and wow she's still talking to you. Now she's waiting on what's next and that's for you to lead her. If you're at a bar this could mean you go outside for some fresh air, go to the bar to get a drink, go to the dance floor. Go somewhere and get her to follow you. If she's not going to follow you she's not invested enough and you can either double down or cut your losses and move on.

Phase 5: close the fucking deal. If you made it this far it means you got to know her pretty well and she was invested enough to change locations and be isolated with you. Kino/physical touch should have escalated a lot at this point. This is generally where you casually go all in by inviting her to either go directly home with you for some subtly suggestive reason, or go to a new place that's conveniently located closer to your place or maybe even hers depending on the logistics. It's basically a done deal at this point.

Hopefully that's helpful. I could go into more detail about conversational topics but honestly that mostly comes from practice and just having a genuine curiosity about other people and being an interesting enough person to connect with them.

Great job approaching! I liked the way this is written.

The only thing I can say is be careful asking a girl deeply about work, unless they are doing their dream job they might not want to talk too much about it. Try "What brings you out here tonight" I get some good convos by asking why they are in a particular place. Also try things you are genuinely interested in. It helps.

What do you look like man? And can you give a bit more background on yourself? From your descriptions (and your username), it sounds like your vibe could be killing the interaction before it really gets going. You don't have to be the most attractive guy, but you should be conveying a vibe of social competence when you're out there. It also kind of depends on what type of venue you're at.

Good approach but a suggestion, don't introduce yourself and don't ask for her name either.

Her: sure is

me: (order a beverage, say a hard cider) Not a beer person, but apple juice is good, alcoholic juice is even better.

Her: (hopefully she smiles at this small joke)

at this point the really small talk begins, after she is interested in you she will give you her name willingly and you can give her your name.

2nd approach:

okay, but a little probing in terms of questions. the drink question was good, you could have easily gotten into a thought question like "thats a neat drink, but really what is your absolutely favorite mixed drink of all, mine is ......... ( you give yours first).
