I don't think that her asking you to hold her drink is some sort of control issue, the fact that she bugged out when you said you'd drink (some) of it is what I think is the problem here - whenever this situation happens to me I say "I'm going to take a sip," and I'm positive that it comes off as an IOI. Often times when I give a girl my drink she just drinks some of it without my permission, which is an IOI in itself (to a small degree). But really, I wouldn't have drank the entire thing, I think you're coming off too strong at that point more than anything - and not in a good way.

At this point you can decide on how she says it on what kind of "fee" you want to put out there. A sip. a free drink. Hell if its early in the game # or k-close. or say you havent decided yet and your going to "save it for later". it all depends on the level your at with her and the vibe your getting. but thats how i prefer to handle that situation.

I would've smiled and bought her another drink. I never buy drinks for girls, but that reminds me - I've opened a girl, told her let's go dancing, she had a drink in her hand, told her to put in on the table, we danced she took her drink and said there's less of it in the glass. I said, all right I'll buy you another one and I did. Ended up pulling her to her place. The only ONS I ever had. Sometimes it's good to buy them drinks :)

I just say, "yeah, sure.", take the drink, and put it down on the table/bar. Why should I hold her drink when we have all these wooden structures around that were put there for the sole purpose of holding drinks?

If there are no tables around, just don't be a dick and hold the goddamned drink. It's not a shit test. She's not amoging you. It's a logistical action.

I think it could have gone better if you had a few exaggerated sips as a joke. "Ooh, this. is. GOOD." kind of a deal. Drinking her whole drink was a little dick.

Depends on the girl and her attitude you should gauge how to handle situations.

-If it's a girl your doing some serious flirting with then drinking her drink could work but you would have to follow it up with something like 'hey! I'm one less drink away from having sex with you ;)' - hell you could even make some joke about it tasting like chloroform.

-if it's someone you have just met or a girl with low confidence. When she says 'hold this' I'd either hold her hand, hold her bag, or give her a big bear hug. Mistaken communication jokes always goes down well.

But you have to hold her drink once you have done the tease dude.

This is what I almost always do. Literally, about 90% of the time, I tell her I'm gonna drink her drink. Then I do.

The main point though is to try to get some decent reaction from her. If she just blows you off, then all you got was a free drink (which you could get from anyone). It's better to have some banter with her and make something happen.

I'm gonna remove this post unless you provide some more examples (especially examples where you had some "success," beyond getting free drinks). I like what you did in this example, except I'd never drink the whole drink, and I'd try to allow her to continue a conversation with me. Getting free drinks is cool, but it's largely irrelevant to seddit.

I think your move was great, but you killed it in the end. You should have ignored her retort and asked her what the drink was, and how tasty it was in an innocent way. Then ask her if she could by you another. When she refuses, you could ask if you could hold her purse next time so that you could get some money out of it instead of alcohol. Then when she gets super upset, smile and tell her to calm down and come to the bar. Ask her what she wants, and buy it for her. The conflict and tension is good, but you should bring her back to a happier place instead of being a complete asshole.

Tell her that your going to rufi it. If the girl sticks around she's probably down to fuck. I usually either do that or, like you, drink it (though if the drink sucks I'll dump it out/give it away). When she gets pissed I just say "And that's why you don't have me hold your drink!" It puts the girl in her place and you get a free drink out of the deal.

one bar in town uses plastic cups instead of glassware just to keep things a bit safer. for example if one were to.... intentionally 'let go' of a drink as a favor, because no intended length of time to hold it was specified, a plastic cup would not break

actually i havent used this one in a very long time now that i think about it. the reactions are either "are you an idiot?!" or "OH MY GAAAAWWWWWDDDD!!!" and they flip into hysterics, whats funny is even if your target doesn't think its funny, i guarantee someone else will! awww yeah! reinforced state!
