This is really though for me. On an intellectual level, I get it. I'm 30 and had 10 or 11 sexual partners, which is probably a little above average. But it doesn't feel that way, maybe because I had my first partner at 24 and my second at 29. I'm trying to catch up, but I feel I missed out on being a horny 16 yo with a 16 yo gf who fuck every chance the get.

And then I read something like the other thread in here where a 23 yo chick has had 60 partners and orgies or at least threesomes regularly. Then all rational thought is out the window and I feel nothing but anger and envy.

I'm wondering if I will ever feel content without racking up a partner count of at least 30.

This discussion is missing the more important point.

Yes, self-perception is skewed and most people are having less sex than you think. But the question is, do those people want to be having more sex?

I would venture to say yes, yes they do.

Having more sex is an integral part of this subredit, after all. Isn't it?

For those of us who are actively trying to improve the quantity and quality of our sex lives, articles like this don't do much.

It's like having a goal to get in better shape, and having someone tell you "oh hey look most people are overweight".

The article makes good points. But at the end of the day it's not helping me improve.

Do you think those 1 out of 5 students are happy to have gone through college without hooking up? Maybe. But probably not.
