I would probably go somewhere either before/after the movie date i.e. food, ice cream, a walk in the park, coffee, etc so you have more opportunity to talk and get to know each other. A movie is just not a good first date choice since you can't really talk or kino much besides awkwardly holding hands or something.
[–]Dgeloso 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
Yah like I kind of said earlier it was one of those things I didn't realize wasn't the greatest until after doing some googling. But that is a good idea.
[–]simple_mech 20 points21 points22 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I know this is hard to hear but I'd take her to another place first and escalate first so that cuddling during the movie is more natural.
Or change plans. She's not going to care, you haven't even agreed to a specific movie.
[–]jackzander 7 points8 points9 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Definitely before the movie. You'll want time to chitchat and have a few laughs before sitting down and trying to watch a screen for 2 hours.
You'll have to be careful, because not every girl is ready for this high-octane adrenaline-packed lifestyle, but you could hit up a store before-hand and smuggle in snacks. It's my ritual, and everyone seems to enjoy it.
[–]Dgeloso 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
We are seeing Hail Caesar which she had mentioned a couple days before I asked as something she wanted to see, so I wouldn't say it will be adrenaline packed.
But Trust me I have an idea for later that will be just that (should I be so lucky to need it)
[–]almondbutter1 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
since you're having trouble and getting downvoted for it, the adrenaline-packed lifestyle is sneaking in the snacks. it's a joke because that's not very risky at all. but it's a good way to be a little "adventurous" and create an "us mentality" since now you're both in on the con.
[–]Tweak_O_Rilis 13 points14 points15 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
my advice it to go to food after because, if all else fails you can talk about the moive at the dinner
[–]studbacon 9 points10 points11 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
+1 to this. You instantly leap into a conversation that can go a million different directions. Everybody's got some kind of connection to movies.
On top of that, different genres have natural transitions like comic book movies -> comic books & TV shows. Scary movies -> scary stories. Sexy movies -> blowjob in the car... You get the idea.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think movies can be a decent ice breaker because you have something to talk about for a long time afterwards and you can learn a lot about a person by how they react to certain things.
That said sitting silently next to a date you barely know all the way through a movie is kind of weird. I get drinks first usually so we're both more loose through it.

If you have one in your area, take her to the drive-in bro! More unique than the tired, this-is-what-we-did-in-high-school movie theater
[–]ndatoxicity 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
This is also a great idea. Love the drive-in movie theater
[–]Lead ModeratorThrowawayPUA 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Come on ladies This is the eighties Let's go to the Drive-in In my new Mercedes
[–]Dgeloso 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Great Idea! But at the moment I don't have a car (it really doesn't work well to have on in the city I live in)
[–]roxinova 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Where do you live? I lived near a really ritzy theater that had lazee-boys instead of regular seats (some were couches, so you didn't need to worry about the arm getting in the way of wrapping an arm around). They also had full meals and alcohol that you could being into the theater. It was more upscale than just a regular movie date.
[–]Dgeloso 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
whats the name of the place and where is it
[–]roxinova 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Showplace icon theaters. They only have 3, though. You might be able to look up to see if there is something similar near you.

Buy popcorn and cut a small hole through the bottom of the bucket just large enough for your penis to stick through.
[–][deleted] 16 points17 points18 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Make sure the hole is super tiny
[–]Quithi 7 points8 points9 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
A good variation on that one is not to hide it. Instead stand up as if you're going to the bathroom and then gently slap her face with it.
[–]IANAPUA_Yet 24 points25 points26 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
but that ship has sailed since I asked her "do you want to see a movie". And that was what she said yes to.
Nah, man... she said yes to spending a few hours with you. The movie is just the excuse; if she really cared about it, she would have made her own plans to see it by now.
So if you want to change the plans, go ahead and do it. Just say, "Change of plans, let's _________ instead." 80% chance she'll be cool with it. If she's not, she'll say so and you can go back to the original plan.
Spontaneity is a good thing.
[–]Dgeloso 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Okay I might ask that. We are both history majors so maybe a museum or something
[–]DeadShot91 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I recommend giving IANAPUAYet's advice a try. It's pretty solid. The only thing I would change is that there is a 100% chance she will be cool with it. Girls love when men take charge. Don't be afraid to take the lead. She wants it, and she's not going to ask you to do it. Keep that mindset not just with this date but with all interactions you have with women moving forward. I'm not saying be a bossy dick. Don't command her, LEAD her. Straight up just be like "this is the plan, _____________" ... I haven't met a woman yet that would rather have a guy that waits to see what she wants.
[–]Dgeloso 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
So in terms of taking the lead, i'd imagine that bossy dick would be along the lines of "my way or the highway". But what would be to far in the other direction? What would be too light of a touch in other words.
[–]DeadShot91 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Too light: "You're free tonight? Well, you want to maybe, IDK, possibly go see a movie with me? Or we can do whatever you want it really doesn't matter"
Too heavy: "You're free tonight? Even if you had plans I wouldn't give a shit. Meet me at the movies at 8pm and don't be late or you'll piss me the fuck off."
Just right: "You're free tonight? Perfect, let's go to the movies around 8. Make sure you text me a picture of your outfit so we don't end up wearing the same thing :P"
[–]Dgeloso 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Got it! That is more or less how I talk anyhow.
[–]GringuitaInKeffiyeh 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
As a woman who's a history major, this is great because you have a wealth of geeky date possibilities that you might not have wanted to go to alone... museums, lectures, even touristy stuff around your city that you've always wanted an excuse to check out. (For example, I'm from Boston and one time I found out that neither me or my OKC date had actually walked the Freedom trail before, so we did that.)
[–]Not2original 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
only light snaking for the movie, then dinner afterwards, walk to dinner to get your legs moving because you've been sitting for a few hours, you can talk about the move and relate it to other life stories. then after dinner walk back to the car help food digest and you can build some good physical contact here; if the conversation was on point.
[–]letsgetrandy 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Definitely, definitely, definitely meet a few hours before the movie and do something to build some attraction, so that you're not just two strangers sitting next to each other in dark room full of strangers staring at a moving picture.
Personally, I like to have a couple of drinks before a movie. I also like to pick up my dates on my motorcycle (gets 'em accustomed to physical contact right away).
Also, have a place in mind where you can grab some food after the film is over and discuss your opinions of the movie.
[–]thats_shit 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
As a fellow motorcyclist, I'm curious. Do you simply carry an extra helmet for your date or?
[–]letsgetrandy 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Helmets are not required where I live, and since I live downtown in a major city, the traffic doesn't move very fast so I usually don't bother with a helmet. However if the girl expresses a desire for one, I'll bring one for her.
When I lived in a smaller town, where I traveled larger distances and at higher speeds, I always wore one and kept a second one on the bike for any passengers I might have.
[–]8483 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
My favorite thing for first dates is bowling. It is great as it allows:
Usually cinemas are in a mall and they tend to have bowling areas. Don't ask her if she wants to bowl, just say "Hey, I'm feeling like bowling and I'm going to kick your ass" or something along those lines.
After the movie, go for a drink somewhere.
Have fun man, props for asking her out.
[–]Dgeloso 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Thanks man! Great Ideas all the way through
[–]diggdeserter 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
1) Torrent the movie.
2) Invite her over to watch it.
3) ????
4) Profit
PS Obviously not advocating stealing. Think of the poor actors, and studio owners.

[–]diggdeserter 7 points8 points9 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Dgeloso 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

[–]SJRompy2 points 10 years ago* [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link
You won't find new movies in good quality, though
[–]Dgeloso 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yah just found that out a couple minutes after typing. Sometimes you get lucky.
[–]crash1082 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is not entirely true. Although what is, "good quality" is completely subjective when it comes to torrents.
[–]diggdeserter 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
A "friend" of mine uses popcorntime and i he says the quality is usually excellent.
[–]ihaveabu3 points 10 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link
Most important thing to do before you go to the theater/drive in, establish some kino!
Nothing is more awkward than sitting there awkwardly next to her not sure what to do with your hands or arms.
[–]Dgeloso 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Kino?
[–]Mathieulombardi 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don't sweat it. Just one date. Meet up for a movie, have fun, then go out for a walk after. Walk about what she liked and disliked how it relates to how she grew up, her life story. If you guys are hungry by after go to a nice candle lit place and share some food. Take her back to your place for "drinks", or back to her place sex. Close the deal. Do it all over again next week.
[–]Bassethounds4ever 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
If you consider "wanna go to the movies?" as asking out for a date, dont be surprised if she misunderstood it as just two friends seeing a movie.
[–]Dgeloso 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I was more specific than that. Do you want to go out with me this weekend to a movie or something I believe were my exact words
[–]Bassethounds4ever 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Still sorta vague but lets hope for the best. But for a movie date I would always aim for a horror flick or atleast going to the movies at night. Good luck!
[–]homercimpson 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Personally I think movies are a great first date if you have the balls to be touchy during the movie. As soon as the trailers start, i go straight into some leg touching action, then build up to arm around her shoulder, then that usually turns into one armed neck massages, and beleive it or not, it can go a bit further if your playful about it. After that I ask them to chill in the back of my truck and they typically say yes since the touch barrier is broken.
[–][deleted] 22 points23 points24 points 10 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
chill in the back of my truck
Sounds safe
[–]jawni 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Hopefully the truck is parked when this occurs. I do know a guy that literally had a ball pit in the back of his truck, it was pretty cool.
[–]joaonobre 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
How do you step into the leg touching ? And how does she react ?
[–]homercimpson 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If she seems like a conservative type I'll graze it and build up. But if not I'll just full on put my hand on it, then eventually caress it a bit, then fully grasp it so she can feel the strength in my arms etc
Yah the thoughts about getting touchy had crossed my mind...but I think i'll give it a couple (assuming I get that far) before I "go for the leg"
[–]homercimpson 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
All girls I've been with like it so it's become second nature to me (with that in mind). At first it was scary but I guess you can start by grazing her leg like it was an accident. Eventually when you get to my level you can play games like see how long into the movie you can go before you become touchy lol
[–]TheRealYellowClaw1 points 10 years ago* [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link
You could do the touching at any other place dude
Don't call me dude, bruh. Lol n yeah ur right, I just like dimly lit places where less ppl can see (for first dates)
[–]Monsterpiece42 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
My preferred movie date structure is [activity][movie][activity]. So what I mean is, you do something to open/get to know each other (for first dates) like a walk or a coffee, then watch the movie, then something else. I like to follow up with light eating like ice cream because it's hard to eat fast (brain freezes) and gives you time to talk about the movie. This continues to work well time after time. I've been married 4 years now and it still feels fresh each time.
Yah I think that is the general consensus of the thread. That I need to do something other than the movie
[–]Monsterpiece42 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The movie is fine. I actually really like them because they give you something to talk about and they can show hard-to-discover things like taste in humor, for instance. But getting your talk/bond/kino time in is good too.
[–]_UsernameUnknown_ 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't know if it's a bad idea or not but I'd say go to the movie first and then somewhere else (go get something to eat for example).
That way you have something else to talk about as the ice breaker/during dinner (the movie).
Edit: grammar
[–]SkatingOnThinIce 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
This is an easy one. Read about the movie and be ready to talk about it afterwards. Watch all the kohen Bros movies. Be ready to have a smart critical view on the movie and the subject of the movie. She is not taking you to see spider man so she has some brains. yes, she is taking you, she already decided she is in, it is for you to screw it up by bring too superficial.
BTW, When she mentions that you know a lot about the movie, you will say *with confidence * "I don't, I just read a few things to impress you". Now u r smart, sensitive and confident.
Live happily thereafter.
[–]Dgeloso 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yah I know she has brains and she knows I have mine. We've had class together now for two semesters she knows I can hold my own on the intellectual playing field. That said, I'm going to have to brush up on my Cohen bros.
[–]Mage505 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don't see a movie for the first date unless she's knowingly without a doubt attracted to you.
Take her out. Tease her. Escalate her. Seduce her. Then take her to the movies and kino escalate. Movies are bad first dates.
However. Plan something before or after. Just know youre on a timeframe to put yourself in a sexual frame.
[–]MonoXideAtWork 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Here's your task: Find the hip movie theater with a bar, or bar nearby. You'll want to arrive early with your date, so you can drink, talk, kino, escalate.
Here's the menu from my local one, so you kind of get an idea what you're looking for:
Menu
Don't pay her way, IMHO.
[–]Dgeloso 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Under 21 so the bar don't really work too great, but I will keep the idea in the back pocket
[–]MonoXideAtWork 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Then replace alcohol with sugar and fat. FYI, you shouldn't even be here.
[–]plahstic 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Whats wrong with people under 21 being here? What is it illegal? Is it any different from you going onto an pornhub.com under the age of 18 and having a fap. We're trying to better ourselves as people, I don't think being of a certain age is required for self development.
[–]Dgeloso 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
And why shouldn't I be here
[–]MonoXideAtWork 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
From: https://www.reddit.com/r/seduction/comments/10ioux/xmodx_updated_seddit_rules_posting_guidelines/
So, not only is this a beginner post, which is covered under the rules - but given that the poster isn't over the age of 21, this is essentially "dating advice for teenagers," which is explicitly not what this subreddit is about.
My personal opinion, is that this time should be spent living life and developing who you are, not on seddit. If you don't develop a good sense of who you are through your own experiences, you're liable to have trouble once you leave the years when you're surrounded by women all the time.
Teenage seduction and adult seduction are completely different things, asking adults to help with teenage seduction is a bit creepy IMHO.
[–]Dgeloso 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
So I am 20 so I wouldn't say I need a teenage subreddit. And excuse the hell out of me for not being able to find an answer to a fairly specific question in a very general FAQ.
[–]MonoXideAtWork 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
One day, you'll realize that if you disagree with something you don't need to argue every step of the way. Some people will have different opinions, and that's OK.
You're not excused, you're behaving like a child at this point.
[–]Overnight_Delivery 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I really don't think it's supposed to be alcohol seddit vs non alcohol seddit. Probably more like I live with my parents vs I don't seddit. Also a lot of those high schoolers have more guts and game than a lot of adults.
[–]the_life_is_good 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't know if they play it near you, but they play a Coca Cola commercial where I live where the guy goes for the arm around the girl, and a couple variants of that.
Fucking golden opportunity, works every time.
[–]chadbrochillout 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If you have access to a vip theater go see Deadpool, it's a more intimate setting, and you can have some drinks before and during the movie. Go grab a bite afterwords. Did this with a date before valentine's and had a really fun time.
[–]GoingRaid 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
For a movie date. Find a place to eat near the theater first. Leave time to have a little walk before the movie, maybe get ice cream or something. Afterwords if all is well go on a walk to stretch legs and talk about the movies. Movies dates are super casual, treat it that way.
[–]Overnight_Delivery 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I wouldn't actually ever recommend movies, it instills / establishes that you both don't talk in each other's presence. Even if you're having an awesome conversation just before going in it's going to be a slight uphill battle coming out of being silent with each other.
So you better have some convo lined up for right after leaving the movie and a few things about the movie to talk about. Or even though you both know you shouldn't you might / will associate wrong things to the silence / difficultly getting talking again.
