I posted something yesterday that got a TON of love. I don't consider myself a pickup artist. Not at all. I consider myself a man who is attractive to women and that women love. Why do I bring that up? Because things changed from the founding of the pickup community, to what it is now. And not in a good direction.

Way back when, talking about how the ego affected guys in field was pretty common knowledge. I was happy yesterday, that post got way more upvotes than I could have imagined. But I also feel there were a few guys confused by it and since it was late and I was out doing my thing I didn't give the reply section the attention it deserved. Sorry. Singing and playing grab ass with hot Mamacitas who love my singing takes priority over Reddit discussions. 🙃

I gave some quick replies with a few copy pastes and a link to the topic but some guys got hyperfocused on Freud and completely missed the point.

Anyway let's get into this a little more.

Let's do an example everyone can relate to.

You see a girl. You think she's hot. You want to talk her. That's your immediate thought. Actually not even thinking about it. That's just what you feel.

But milliseconds later voices are in your mind.

"She might not like you."

"She might be offended."

"What if she screams for help."

"What if she laughs at me."

"Maybe she has a boyfriend."

"She won't like me."

On and on and on and on.

That's the ego at work. Trying to defend itself. It doesn't want shame or embarrassment.

But thats just anxiety someone says.

No. That's what your EGO says it is. That's what others EGOS incorrectly told them to believe and they shared that with others. Others incorrectly came up with this concept called "approach anxiety".

Ego says, "I'm your friend. It's anxiety. It's a problem you must overcome and most say it will always be there while others say if you do thousands of interactions it will eventually go away."

So some guys are daunted by that task. They are defeated by the ego.

Others say, "ok here we go!"

But each interaction that voice is there.

"She doesn't like you."

"She's not into you."

"My state is off today. Better go watch more videos on State."

"You see that facial expression? She's offended."

"Get her phone number and leave. Then you win."

On and on.

And down the line some guys will have done hundreds of approaches.

Some may have some success but still feel like failures. The ego says, "You're failing."

I just read about a guy who in 1 year was in school, had a job, going to the gym, was hanging out with women on a regular basis but hadn't gotten laid yet. All those successes and getting so close but the title of his post?

I have failed.

That's the ego voice. "Don't worry about all you have.. Look at what you don't have! You are a failure."

Relationship

Maybe you do get some success.

Maybe you are with an awesome girl. But your ego kicks in.

Remember that guy on the internet says that you need to fuck 100 models or strippers or you're a loser.

So you dump the girl.

Years later you regret it. Maybe you had some success since then and still feel empty. Maybe you didn't get that success. Either way you feel you let a girl go who was perfect because of that voice always wanting more, always telling you why you're not good enough. maybe she was the perfect girl for you, but at the time your ego convinced you otherwise and you haven't found a girl as awesome since.

There's literally hundreds of ways that ego and relationships are related.

It's alarming to me that in this modern pickup era so many of the pickup artists find this concept alien. All the good stuff from the past has been lost while many of the most watered down and nonsensical ideas are being enthusiastically shared.

Kudos to you guys who get this.

Maybe a guy reads this and he gets a voice in his mind that tells him, "This guys full of shit. I need to put him in his place."

Ego much?

Maybe me even writing this response is my ego at work. Maybe. Maybe if I DIDN'T write this it would be listening to my ego saying, "No one wants to hear this. You're wrong. Just shut up."

But awareness. Being aware. Knowing. That's the difference. If you're just a slave to it it controls you. If you are aware you can better work with, ignore, or utilize the ego to prompt you into action.

Ego says, "Don't talk to her. She's just going to reject you."

You say, "Ok. Well I'm just going to go talk to her and get rejected then."

Acceptance a concept super powerful I almost never hear about in the dating/pickup/Seduction game.

Next thing you know she's NOT rejecting you.

Things are going really well your date. Ego says, "Don't kiss her. She's not into you like that."

So you think, "hmmm. Why did that just happen. Maybe on some level she just sent me a signal that she wants to be kissed. Why am I even thinking about this now?" And so you go in and kiss her and she loves it.

Maybe you try to kiss her and she denies you. Ego wants you to be mad, frustrated or pouty. But instead you play it cool and later on that night she's so turned on she wants you to fuck her in the car.

I highly recommend the movie Revolver Hell just watch this clip to get the idea and an illustration of what I'm talking about in this post. Lol. However the whole movie is phenomenal.

So let's get some other thoughts by experts who are smarter than you and me. (You see what I did there? Some of your egos probably just said, "Bullshit. I know more than anyone this guy can dig up. These so-called experts are all full of shit.")

I will keep these relatively short.

I hope this helps.

Good luck.
