Bio: I life weights, I’ve lost a lot of fat, gained a lot of confidence, have a stable lifestyle and I’ve read Models 6 times in the last 6 years.
In this sub, we have established over and over that in the post-Tinder world we live in, 80% of women seeking men have a plethora of new options presented to them daily. So much so, that women will often overlook non-needy, attractive men because she has too many options to explore and not enough time or patience to interact with them all.
While this does not apply to real life and cold approaches quite as much as it does to apps, the two - online dating and real life approaches - are not mutually exclusive. A woman you meet at the bar, if she feels so compelled, can quickly decide that the Chad who’s just matched her on Hinge is worth more of her time. So long, dude. Female ADHD strikes again.
Manson in Models pushes home the point that a non-needy man will typically have success in attracting women just by nature of being non-needy and attractive. The non-neediness indicates high status, which women intuitively feel without knowing, etc.
But if there are a slew of non-needy, attractive men who are constantly available to a woman, what is the outcome? Manson wrote his book over 6 years ago, long before Tinder became a household name for men and women 18-40. He never once alludes to Tinder or much of OLD in general. Does this make a difference for men who are following his advice? If so, how? Do you spend more time on dating apps because of the smaller pool of women whose ADHD will not make them lose interest before an emotional connection has been made? Does this create the need to make an emotional connection during the very first encounter?
