If it’s not in the divorce agreement…. She is going to lose. This is a bulldozer tactic.

Is there a clause to split misc or extra school Expenses?

I feel this post a lot. Let her take you to court. Bring this up to the judge. Be able to show that you're on time and complying with child support. Hopefully the judge won't be a douche. My experience is that they are, but you may luck out. She can't just take from what you give for support and apply that to the driver's ed and say you now have to pay the rest in child support. That's not legal at all.

I feel ya man. I have a child with my current girlfriend. I'm trying to move on, but my ex does the same while she sits at home. I refused to pay $2k for my middle son to get braces early because my newborn had a big bill with the NICU and I was negotiating with the hospital, but the ex gave zero fucks and even probably rushed the braces because it was going to hurt me. Joke is on her though. I have a security clearance, and if I overextend myself I can get my clearance revoked and lose my job, and then she'd have to find an actual job rather than live off my alimony and child support I give her.

Think of It this way. If you pay half for the drivers ed don’t you get a break on your insurance for the kid taking drivers ed. It probably would pay you back in the long run if you’re having to pay half for the insurance.

I'm going to go against the grain here - I personally think a driver's ed course for your kid to be able to get their license would reasonably fall within the extracurricular activity costs that are usually split 50/50 (on top of mommy support) in divorce decrees. You need to look at your decree and see what it says, maybe it says only "agreed extracurriculars" or something - but I think it would be a dick move to not agree on the kid taking driver's ed. Be aware that if you don't pay your ex will certainly be using this as an alienation lever with the kid ie. "Your dad doesn't want you to take driver's ed and get your license but your wonderful mother is going to pay for everything".

Make sure you’re secure on legal footing and see if you can hit her for legal fees for filing a frivolous motion if she does so. What she thinks is her strength is in reality her weakness. You can use her overreach and aggression against her.

Ignore, block, and start communicating only on one of those parenting apps. Have you ever won an argument with this woman, married or divorce? Well, you aren't going to win this one either. Let her pay to go to court. It's a waste of time and she'll lose, but if she files make sure you try to have your CS reduced at the same time. She's jealous of your new life and wants to make you miserable. Typical scorned woman behavior.

If it’s not in the decree then you don’t have to pay it. You might offer to pay pro-rata based on your incomes.

Say no, don't give it to extortion or it will never end. If she takes you to court fight it to make it cost as much as possible for her. That's the only way this stops.

Read your divorce decree as a start. Should have a section for this.
