I don’t think anyone has a problem with the positive aspects of masculinity, it’s the toxic parts that people take issue with.

Lean into positive masculinity or balance out your toxic traits with more positive ones. I’ve yet to meet a heterosexual woman who doesn’t like a man that acts like a man.

I'm not sure if there's any dissonance here. The nature of hegemony means that it dominates society, so nessesarily if a particular masculinity is hegemonic it will extend to the sexual preferences of women.

Theres also the question of what exactly is being criticized, I don't understand it to be people being attracted to any particular feature, that's largely external to one's control.

Big boobs and big asses and thicc has finally come to the foreground

From what I’ve seen before men really wanted skinny YOUNG women

But like really wanted them skinny with no curves or anything

Which is weird to me

But because of the internet and communication

We’ve been able to see all types of women from different regions

Allowing all body types to be compared

And this has led to thicc or curvy or big boobs or big asses being sought after

Also keep in mind that this is pretty recent

Women from unknown parts of the world become instant stars for just having big boobs

Literally 100k followers to a million

Some fly out to see drake or other celebrities

So women/feminists really try to fight against this

But from what I know and seen and experienced it’s too late

And also women/feminists fight against the stereotypical hyper masculine male

All the time

It’s mostly the double speak/hypocrsisy

Where women have to defend women at all cost

So feminist and women will say hyper masculinity and dominance and traits associated are bad

Then say it’s only normal that women are attracted to some of these traits and you can’t force attraction and it makes biological sense

So my disagreement with the op

Is not what you said regarding men

It’s about the reverse and inverse

But also I might delete this when I wake up because I’m beyond tired

But tldr: women do criticize women’s dating preferences but they can’t attack women because of their code of not going against women so they criticize men

But essentially they are criticizing women’s choices/dating preferences by trying to discourage those types of men from being a goal to attain as far as male archetypes

Hopefully when I wake up this makes sense to me

We have two Goths and a metal head at my work.. Then there is the Emt scene, which is huge and welcoming.
