weird quote in the article:

if 20% of crimes are against women and girls, does that make 80% of crime against men and boys? If that is the case which one is a 'national emergency'?

Not sure how a curfew imposed on men only would work in the UK, but in the US, something like this is a clear violation of the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment in the constitution. Though it would be entertaining to see the mental gymnastics unfold as lawyers try to argue that it’s not a violation thereof.

The show seems like it's actually taking the side of men, as it's a dystopian future, and shows the futility of the concept of a curfew.

Some murder isn't gonna be like "Golly gee wilikers, I was gonna go do some killin' and murderin' tonight, but this darn curfew is getting in my way. Guess I'll stay home and watch Netflix"

It's the same brain-dead policy of "Teach men not to rape." Men know not to rape. The men who commit rape don't exactly give two shits they're not suppose to do it. If you said "teach men not to mug," you'd be laughed at. People who commit crimes don't do them because they don't know they're illegal, they just don't care. It's just another attempt to make all men responsible for the actions of a limited few.

"There's a lot of fear you feel as a woman" yet men get murdered a lot more.
The question really should be "Why is the imagined fear of a woman more important than the real danger men are in?"

I've not seen this show, but the premise sounds questionable at best. First of all, the only way something like this could ever be put into place is if 90% of men became weaklings overnight and allowed it to happen. Secondly, how badly would it affect the economy if men were under curfew? Nightclubs, for instance, wouldn't survive, save for those that cater to a subset of women. Many jobs that are essential for society to function are done by men at night. Thirdly, who the fuck would be enforcing this? Policewomen? How could they possibly stop men from breaking curfew?

EDIT: I'm watching the show now. There's a male cop who's apparently exempt from the curfew acting as a thug for his female colleague, and he looks like he shouldn't be out at night, not because of any government curfew, but because he looks like he's got school in the morning. This is hilarious. Even a fascist, feminist regime needs men.

Just more pc “topical” slop from the most boring and man hating Island in the world. Sad, they used to be so good at bringing old classic stuff to life (and making new shows) in the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s.

Fucking idiot actress in her interview talking about how many people are in favour of a curfew. That Island is gonna be in for a hard wake up call.

Okay, I just finished watching the show. While having a somewhat interesting premise, it was explored poorly, and there was too much about it that didn't make any sense. The killer's identity was disappointing, as was their motive. There was a subplot about the government hushing up crimes committed by women because it would be hard to justify a male-only curfew if women are just as bad as men, but that never went anywhere, either.

I saw a trailer and thought that the whole concept was too stupid to even be a fictional plot point. It was just constantly breaking my suspension of disbelief.

But apparently it's based on something a politician in the UK suggested in parliament after a tragedy. So I guess it exposes how dumb that was at least, don't think it'd make a good show but who knows.
