I’d say that children need more protection, but otherwise most policies unrelated to pregnancy or childbirth should be gender-neutral. It’s a shame how we treat male victims of DV or sexual violence. Men need protection too.

More? I'm not sure. But they certainly need different protections than men, mostly based on reproductive rights. Obviously things like the draft should be done away with, too.

Teaching egalitarian social/gender dynamics seems like the best thing to do for everyone.

Depends on what you mean by protection.

Generally speaking, all people deserve equal protection outcomes, and that baseline of equality needs to be measured based on their needs.

For example, women need protections for pregnancy because pregnancy is a type of vulnerability that does not affect men. A pregnant woman being offered front seats on a bus is a protection that acknowledges her temporary disabled state- men can have disabled states that allow them that seating too, but they obviously can't have it on the basis of pregnancy.

Or rape- you are objectively more at risk during rape if you are penetrated by a penis than if your genitals were stimulated by something non-penetrative (regardless of the sex of the victim in both cases). You are objectively even more at risk if you also have a uterus and ovaries, and are more at risk of having been targeted if you look like you have a uterus and ovaries regardless of if you do. Distinguishing between "penetrated by a penis" rape and other forms of rape is meant to designate the appropriate level of protection for the level of present risk.

The goal shouldn't be treating women as princesses, though. The goal is to get the same result for everyone of everyone getting the protections they need for their independent issues.

The protections that they are trying to offer girls is no protection at all. Lowering the marriage age with parental consent, contesting the abortion pill being mailed, monitoring periods and reducing access to birth controls are methods of control and allow for more women to be abused.

Banning books, putting the Bible in schools, removing fact based sexual education and promoting abstinence only are all things that protect no one.

Don’t say gay bills or anything that doesn’t teach about alternative families are all things that hurt society as a whole.

The government in its current incarnation is doing harm to everyone across the country and speaking to a disenfranchised group of men who believe if we just hold on tighter to these pesky women things will improve for us. It doesn’t work that way.

Unfortunately, yes. Not PC but it's a fact that women aren't as strong as men are physically. And we're more susceptible to things like stalking and sexual assault than men are. It's why I believe gun rights are women's rights. I know I wouldn't win an altercation with a much larger, stronger man unarmed.

Problem is, I have this pesky depression that makes me a greater danger to myself than others if I have access to a weapon, so gun ownership is a bad idea. Otherwise, I'd have one without a doubt. However, if you're a woman and don't deal with such issues, you should get yourself strapped.
