How genuine is the empathy of women who say they care about men's issues?

Some legitimately care. In particular those that have male relatives/friends chewed up by the system. And then those of the strong intellect that can understand the faults with popular feminism, the politics at play in both men and women's issues, the deceit, the failure with any sort of black-white philosophy, arguments against a straw man etc. some genuinely get it but many it's a trend, intellectual junk food nothing more.

Women like Erin Pizzey, Helen Smith, Christina Hoff Sommers, Karen Straughan, Sara Eaton, Cassie Jaye, and a number of “honey badgers” absolutely care about men’s issues. They’ve taken a LOT of flak and incurred significant costs from feminists and male simps for doing the right thing. No one should doubt their empathy for men or dismiss their contributions to the men’s rights movement.

I (and probably all men) are really grateful for every woman who has empathy towards men and don't assume the worst about us. We shouldn't assume badly about them. What is concerning are the women who don't feel any empathy and instead treat us like robots.

I don't care one way or another if they empathise with me. What I appreciate seeing is women who will spread awareness--using logic and reason--into women's spaces, regarding the societal struggles men face.
Actions matter, and these allies do exist.

I experienced my husband being put at the back of the line with a tumor he had on his thyroid because he was male and possibly because we didnt have kids. We live ina country with universal healthcare, but the system is overloaded by chronic lifestyle problems and lack of funding and nurses.

I went to the hospital with him and had a full on argument with his doctor after I had sat listening to her dismissing my husbands concerns and I insisted he be moved from endocrinology to surgical - because his tumor was cold, and was predominately a cyst. An ablation could take care of it.

The doctor at endo said since it wasnt that bad he could live with it or remove it- and I saw red. I dont get hot angry, I get cold angry. So this was all conversation in mellow voice tone, but make no mistake, she knew she was a useless trash piece of shit doctor by the time I was done with her.

My husband was moved to a surgical doctor, who performed not one, but 2 ablations using two different techniques spaced 6 months apart and he achieved an 85% reduction in the size of the cyst. There was NEVER any abnormal blood tests for thyroid function, and the endo should have sent him to surgical pretty much immediately. Us going to her for whatever that meeting was, wasted everyones time, and I had to go sit in the car and fume afterwards because normal people, dont deck other people when they get angry. I was just so angry, Ive never felt that way before or since.

And to those who ask how I knew it was because he was a man, it was because I was sat there listening to her asking about the discomfort or level of hoarseness he was feeling and literally saying: "So you are saying that by the end of the day you feel only slightly hoarse and its not a big problem? - and my husband just looked at me like: No, I literally told you, Im hoarse all day and I keep trying to clear my throat throughout the day. That I can feel it move everytime I swallow and its also unsightly...

But she just ignored his concerns and discomfort. And when I said to her to talk about the ablation - she said: HE HAS TO WANT IT NOT YOU... and thats when I saw red. She had just demonstrated a remarkable inability to LISTEN TO HIM. She was suggesting he get half his thyroid removed like the most primitive method possible with its own potential risks significantly bigger than an ablation. So on top of the fact she wouldnt take his pain seriously, and kept invalidating and underminding and dismissing what HE was telling her, she was using a condescending dismissing voice to me, when I asked for the ablation to be explained to my husband. OOOH I still get pissed when I think about how she was acting before she poken the lion.

Anyway. It all had a happy outcome. And now we pay for privat health insurance for my husband. Im still on the universal public system, because I dont run in to an immovable rigid wall of resistance when I need help. Like he does.

And its been some years, but now he lifted something heavy (the iron plate in a piano) and has a supraspinatus tendon lession, and has had xray and UL and next week he is getting an mri, before physiotherapy.. all inside 2 weeks of contacting the doctor. THAT had never happened in the public health system.. Men are supposed to not complain about pain right? Well fuck that.

The only ones who show empathy are those whose family member deleted himself. Could be a dad, brother, cousin, good friend. That's the only thing that hits home. Or a male family member being treated badly, even that is sometimes not enough for them to show empathy.

At the end of the day, the women who protest in the streets against gender neutral rape laws outnumber those that can be bothered to so much as make a tiktok video in support of that idea by order of magnitudes.

And those that seriously care about the issues, those thay seriously advocate for gender neutral rape laws, are facing what looks like an immune response from the majority.

Idk if i’m supposed to comment bc i’m a woman but, I genuinely do care about the way men feel. i’m not a feminst. The true meaning of feminism is lost and modern feminism is really just thinking women are better than men. And I feel like if a woman says they care about the feeling of a man, majority of the time, they don’t consider themselves a feminist.

It's hard to tell sometimes.

But speaking of this sub specifically, I tend to get suspicious when a (presumably female) OP comes in and posts with all kinds of sugary and flowery language about how great men are. My thought is: just stick to the facts and share your true feelings about men. If you support us, tell us directly.

I know that the mods here don't ban users or remove posts willy-nilly, so when that happens, I can safely assume that the OP is/was not who she claims to be.

I do not want men to be generalised by women for their behaviour. I’d be a hypocrite to do the reverse.

People who “care” both men and women will do so for all kinds of reasons, from steeling government money, to fighting just because they feel it’s right.

I’ve seen no major pattern, and will treat people with respect and honesty till they prove themselves not worthy.

It really depends. Most of the times I've seen it, it hasn't been genuine. If they have something they're trying to sell/promote, whether it's their onlyfans, twitter feed, YouTube channel, or anything like that, it's highly likely it's not genuine. Men are a great audience to easily draw in and people who see someone "supportive" of others also are easy to draw in.

That being said, the ones who are genuine are typically the ones who don't have anything to gain from it or just say it casually in passing. There are plenty of them that are like that, they're just not the vocal majority from what I've seen.
