Going through a divorce in Atlanta after 11 years of marriage. My wife has been a stay at home mom for the past 6 years while I've worked my ass off building my career. I now make about $125k and we have a house with roughly $160k in equity plus my 401k that's grown significantly. She's now saying she deserves half of everything including my retirement and wants alimony on top of that. I've been the sole provider this entire time while she stayed home with our two kids. Don't get me wrong, I know raising kids is work, but what is she actually entitled to in a Georgia divorce? Does she really get half my 401k even though I earned it? Her lawyer is being super aggressive and I feel like I'm getting taken to the cleaners. What's realistic here?
