Want to keep this brief:

Wife and I have kids, recently had our third a few months ago and my wife asked for a divorce. She hasn't been talking to me at all, and it has generally been pretty bad around the house. Nothing violent, just no communication, with the only communication being in email. Attorneys are involved, and my attorney in particular cannot believe how bad the communication is around the house, he told her attorney to have her stop with the emails.

This happened about a month ago, with my wife only telling me last week that the reason why is because we are incompatible (made another post about that and that was basically all she said). I would do anything to keep our family together, keep our dreams together and to not have our kids split into different households.

Well tonight, my wife for the first time wanted to talk. I really just let her vent and I used a lot of the Gottman style of communication that I had been studying about (seeking understanding, not being accusatory, etc). It was really our first real conversation about the entire thing since this happened a month ago, I honestly couldn't believe it happened. It was an actual vulnerable conversation, that actually just developed from us talking about the children's toys during cleanup and just unfolded from there. Again, I just let her vent and address grievances. There were a couple of grievances that were addressed where I was able to communicate why I perceived the situation as it was and how the outcome from that came to be. There wasn't really any blame thrown around, just an actual trying to understand. It was understood that everyone loses in this situation.

Kind of has me wondering. Do I still have a chance here? Am I still in the game?
