Oh that’s structural feminism theory. According to that theory, women have less money than men, and fewer women are politicians than men. Hence, the theory claims that women are unequal and can never agree to sex as an equal. Hence, according to structural feminism any sex between man and woman is rape. Hence, when they say “systematic rape”, structural feminists are referring to happily married couples.

The phrase "men systemically rape" is wrong at least on two levels.

First, it implies the existence of some "system of men", that has shared goals and acts as a whole, like a beehive - as opposed to considering every man a unique human that has his own goals and acts as an individual.

Second, it implies the existence of "systemic rape", even though in any civilized society rape is rightfully considered a serious crime and is seriously punished.

Feminists think it sounds good so they SAY it, even though men don't do any such thing, any more than the women who rape (mislabeled as "forced to penetrate" instead of "rape") about 1.6 million men in the United States every year. If men supposedly "systematically" rape, so do women, or if they have a supposed "rape culture", then the women who rape 1.6 million men a year make up a pretty good chunk of that "culture". But feminists would never say these silly things about women sexual predators (if they even admitted they exist), only about men would they say things so tacitly absurd.

I agree that the word ”systematic” should be used carefully. Calling someone a racial slur isn’t systematic racism even though it’s portrayed as such in media. It’s not embedded into a societal machine (governmental or not) with a clear goal. Taxation is systematic, gang violence is systematic, the holocaust was systematic-even misandry in media is systematic.

99% of rapes are not systematic. They are sometimes planned, sure, but not systematic. There are however some very gruesome incidents of rape that are systematic, mostly targeting women. You can search for ”Pakistani rape gangs UK” and find a lot of interesting information on this topic. There are similar groups in India, a child got raped and murdered by over 30 men just a while ago. In relation to that, a mob killing of an innocent man occurred, but the news barely reported that (prime example of misandry in media).

Another example of systematic rape is forceful marriage in Islam, however this affects both men and women, since it’s usually their respective families who handle this affair.

So yes, I agree with you in the sense that the word systematic is used carelessly and wrongly. Systematic rape is however a real thing, and a pretty awful occurrence at that.

The only thing that could be called "systemic rape" in our society is prison rape. A practice that is jokes about in wider culture, and tolerated and silently condoned within prisons. Despite no explicit rules, staff fail to intervene, reports of sexual assault get ignored, dismissed, and inadequately investigated, and there are documented cases of correctional officers facilitating assaults.

It's kind of a double slap in the face; First because there is no part of the cultural that can be said to "systemically rape" women, and second because they lay a claim to it anyway when it's men who are uniquely affected by actual "systemic" rape.

Systemic? I think they believe things like - there's a lack of belief and support for rape victims/survivors to have a dignified investigation opened and receive support - that people are socialized to shame the survivor (what did you do to cause this, don't report it, etc) - that the legal system is hostile and makes criminal conviction difficult - that society does not do enough to shame or other punishment for suspected assailants - the rate of rape is very high

If it's factors like these, then my main objection is that they are mostly subjective (unlike how you can clearly see the statutory law often explicitly makes it impossible for a male survivor to receive treatment under rape laws rather than weaker sexual assault laws).

Also, I think some of the "rape culture" crowd effectively believes that there should be a much lower evidentiary standard for sexual assault accusations (to be fair, I think most people that believe this also are more likely to believe it for a variety of social ills, regardless of the gender of the victim who might "benefit" from this)

Also, I think they tend to be authoritarian in that we need to "fix" society by controlling people, eg, "teaching boys not to rape or participate in 'rape culture' and to shame and attack other alleged sexual assailants [who they assume must be other males]", so conversely they might believe more of the problematic human behaviors (eg, rape and not supporting survivors enough) are the result of institutions and systems that produce these behaviors (top down) rather than individual reacting to their surroundings.

Maybe someone can point me to more concrete, rigorous "systemic" factors (like sentencing and parole guidelines for convicted rapists, survey data on how law enforcement handles sex crimes, etc)

Also US FBI crime victimization stats indicate simple assault occurs at multiples of the rate of rape, but I don't hear anyone talking about "assault culture", "assault epidemic" or "systemic assault".

Is less policy and law and more cultural issue that ebbs into these others. I.e. the abysmal conviction rate for rapes.

There is still, regardless of the progress we've made, an existing rape culture which is what this type of comment is about. Ideas that women ate asking for it for wearing say revealing clothes, not explicitly saying no etc
