Good Morning men,

A co-worker of mine we will call Jose got another co-worker we will call Janet pregnant on purpose in an attempt to keep her. Jose saw his first time in a court room this week and got hit with a cold dose of reality. Let me give a little back story; and I have worked with both of them for over a year.

Jose is in his early 20's working minimum wage, never went to college and is not currently attending college. I am not 100% sure if he even finished high school. He is living with his parents and is the type of guy that puts almost all of his paychecks into pimping out his car for all the ladies. Yes, he believes the way to get girls is to have a bad ass car. He would rag on me about stuff I should put on my car and what the ladies like. He is one of these guys that has an older Toyota Corolla that he lowered and put rims on it. His rims and after market features are worth more than the car.

Janet was on a waiting list for a year for a nursing program she got into and has been attending for a year and a half. She comes from a good family. She works part time and also goes to school part time. She is a hard worker and has even turned down promotions in our company to focus on school. She is just a college student that just wants to have fun, spend time with friends and family and travel.

I am really good at fishing and using a series of indirect questions to sort of get the truth out of people. I spent most of my work shift with Jose the other day working on a project and I have known about the situation for months. From what I understand is that he asked Janet out and Janet said yes, but she was just looking for something low-key, drama free, casual and fun. Jose is not a bad looking guy at all, but just doesn't have his priorities straight. Jose on the other hand had met the love of his life and wanted to be with her forever. He got her pregnant after dating her for just two weeks. From what I gather is he poked holes in the condom or gave her some line like he will pull out and never did. After they found out she was pregnant her and her family were furious. He also started a lot of the stalking behavior, started showing up at our work on his days off "to be with her". You can tell she clearly didn't want to see him. Started texting her every 20 minutes wondering what she is doing.

Fast forward to the baby being born. She has since quit her job with the company and is not in school anymore, even though she did finish the current semester. Jose had a court hearing this week and pretty much got cornered by her family and the judge about child support. The judge broke down how child support works and how he can lose his drivers license, car, and even face jail time. He kept telling me that he can't believe she would do this to "their" family. He is trying to make her seem like the bad person for breaking up "their" family. I sort of told him I do not consider it a family getting a girl pregnant on purpose, which he sort of admits to now, but says his friends told him to do it when he went to them for advice about women and being romantic. I have been a follower of /r/mensrights for some time and do believe a lot of men are victimized when a girl gets pregnant on purpose, I also feel most military guys are also victimized. I know most of you guys do not hate women at all, but just want to see equal rights. In this particular situation though I feel that Jose got exactly what he deserved. Jose is not a criminal or a bad person at all, he just doesn't have his priorities straight and is a little bit immature and easily influenced by his fellow piers. Just after our conversation he has come to the realization he has now ruined his life and will probably be working for $3.00 an hour for the next 18 years, and I sort of indirectly told him he got what he deserved. I wanted your guys opinion about the situation and I was wondering if you guys felt that I am being unreasonable with him?
