Arrogance has a negative connotation. It implies that one's view of being superior is based on entitlement or self-opinion, that you are inherently a superior person just because of being you.

I think irrational confidence is better than arrogance for MRP. Call it semantics if you like but irrational confidence can be based on lifting, sidebar, abundance, OI, and the experience of applying our sexual strategies in the real world.

Confidence is a term you apply to yourself.

Arrogance is a term others apply to you.

Same circumstance, just depends if you're confident enough to remain standing in your own frame.

Arrogant is most often a term used by people who are not confident in their opinions, skills, effort, knowledge, etc. to describe those who are.

No. But if you look back on the many 'fights' MRP has had over definitions you'd see everyone would define it different...and getting that context through the Internet is tough. But I'll try:

Arrogance has an air of superiority with an uncaring or ignorant world view. It's one dimensional. That's not really what you want. I can't tell you how many times in the past week alone I've encountered people who do something or act or believe a certain thing and I smile, entertain their idea as if I know something they don't but like to hear their train of thought because I know I've been there before and the exact paradigm their thoughts are based on. And thats the difference. I'm coming at it from a knowledgable, experienced perspective. I can see their deeper picture, the double meaning, the why behind their thoughts. You ever play split screen video games as a kid and watch someone else's screen? It's like that. If they catch you watching...it might seem arrogant. But if they dont...it's just fun.

Be fun. Be confident. In both what youre doing and how you're reading other people.

It seems to me that arrogance would not be an attractive trait. The data suggests I am full of it. Women are drawn to Dark Triads like a moth to the flame. Narcissism is a requisite for "arrogance." Machiavellians often present as arrogant. Antisocials often present as arrogant.

My wife calls me arrogant infrequently. My response is always the same: "Of course."

Isn't arrogance an over confidence in yourself? Confidence is often mistaken for arrogance because so many people are not confident in themselves. So, if you come off as someone who knows his shit, you will often be accused of being arrogant.

However, as I understand it, arrogance is the over inflated opinion of oneself that is not necessarily consistent with reality in one's ability. Or a person really is "all that" and knows it, but also projects himself as superior to others and treats others like shit.

People who treat others like shit are shit, no matter how talented they are.

before my business was successful, people thought I was arrogant. After I became successful, now people consider me confident. You want to make a big change in your life, you need every ounce of arrogance to ignore the haters and do it. Dont' be afraid to ignore people, even the ones you love. but also put hte work in to minimize your chance of failure and learn from others who accomplished what you want to accomplish.
