My wife has been supportive of my early morning lifting (not that I've needed her support - but it doesn't hurt). I go to the gym at 5:30 every morning. I get home at 8:00 am every morning, in time for breakfast and to drop my kids off at school before heading to work (I work for myself, but have begun working at a nearby coworking space instead of working from home). Today halfway through my routine, my wife texts me that she started her period, was up a few times with our 6 month old, and is having a tough time and could use some help this morning. I got her text about 30 mins after she sent it. When I got it, I responded that I was just seeing her text and said I'd be home in 45 mins (my normal time to come home - beta me would have rushed home immediately). I also offered to make breakfast (she normally has a hot breakfast ready when I come home) and told her to take a rest if she could and have the older kids watch the baby. She didn't respond. She seemed a little cold when I got home (beta me thoughts would be: "is she mad at me?") but it didn't seem terrible and I just went about the morning normally. She ended up having a hot breakfast ready so I just had breakfast and proceeded as normal to take my kids to school and head to work. I did offer to run an errand for her that she was planning on, she declined (beta me would have insisted) and so I said ok and went on with my day. It's now mid afternoon. I'm at work. In my beta days I would buy my wife flowers when I wanted sex or after I did something dumb. Today I had the thought to have flowers delivered - genuinely because she's starting her period, she asked for help but then declined my help and went about her day without complaining. I feel like flowers are appropriate in this situation and I don't plan on initiating tonight. Also thinking I'll avoid a message altogether and just have the flowers on their own. Background: 2 months into RP with 10 yrs of beta weight to shed. Lifting as described above. Reading. More stoic and quiet (which has allowed me to be more responsive to family issues and solve them). Phone use went from nearly every waking hour to almost nothing now. This is the first time I've been aware of her period since I began this journey. Seeking wisdom. Thanks guys.
