It's like saying, I don't understand why so many more men pass the fire fighters physical fitness exam than women. Some may say the test must be biased towards men. I say I don't give a shit because I want someone who passed the test carrying my unconscious body out the window and down the ladder. The test measures a specific and useful trait, it doesn't mean that men are better than women, just that there are differences. If you want to put a judgement on that that says therefore all men are smarter than women, that's on you. Or that we should change the test to reflect our preconceived expectation of equality, that's just not science.

I think the funniest part about how men and women have the same average IQ, is that IQ tests were altered to make this true.

Men used to score higher than women, which pissed off women, so the test was altered to give more weight to what women do better than men. The sections that require abstract thought or critical thinking were devalued, and sections that can be memorized and parroted, like vocabulary, were given more weight.

Unrelated, but still funny, is how a lot of people think IQ tests cannot be studied for because they test natural cognitive ability. This is false. I studied mathematics in university, and on any IQ test I come across a ton of questions I've seen before. Those questions are gimmies for me. Obviously anyone can read to get better at the vocabulary section, etc.

If you look at North East Asian cultures (China, Korea, Japan), they have their children studying for standardized tests their whole lives that are essentially IQ tests. They also view deviating from the norm as near criminal. They memorize and learn how to pass IQ tests but are discouraged at all costs to think outside of their cultural norm. Hence they have higher IQs, but far fewer creative geniuses than Europeans (There's probably a genetic component to this too. Culture and genetics are inseparable, as it's the genetics that creates the culture). The Ashkinazi Jews clearly have the highest natural cognitive ability. They have the highest IQs and the highest level of innovation.

Even though it's said that hey tried designing tests that also took women's areas of expertise into account, standard IQ test with three deviations are still hugely favoring people who are good at calculus and spatial thinking, and have little verbal parts in it (at least the one I did). Guess you can't have your cake and eat it, too - either you create a "non-culturally biased" test that measures mostly things unrelated to language and puts women at a disadvantage, or you create tests that also measure linguistic skills and put people with another mother tongue at a disadvantage. How are the SAT scores distributed? I am not from the US, but from what I know, odds are that they'd be more meaningful since they cover a lot more areas than just doing some calculations.

While we have similar IQ scores on average but the distribution over a bell curve is much flatter and spread out for men, which means there's a greater chance that women will be closer to the average 100 IQ score, and men have a greater chance to fall far from it, but both and above and below.

Basically it means there's more smarter men than women,there's also more dumber men than women. As a fairly high IQ male (3 independent scores all exceed 130) it's very hard to find women who are on the same intellectual playing field. The few that are tend not to really leverage their intelligence and waste it on something mundane, trivial or really shallow.

Shame.

All three: bottom, middle and top matter.

Bottom because we need people on the most basic of jobs to function as a society (garbagemen, cleaners, etc).

Top because we need innovators that start companies and provide jobs.

Middle because they are the workforce for the companies I just mentioned.

Men are on the top, meaning they are the ones truly innovating and creating value in our economies (we saw a post a few days back, about how men held 94.5% of all commercial patents and women only 5.5%).

Men are also on the bottom, doing jobs absolutely crucial for a society to function. And in the middle.

Men are awesome. Without men, there would be basically no innovation (new companies, tech development, science dev) nor the society could function because no one would do the "dirty jobs" (garbage, sweage, mining...). Top and bottom are the most important, to me. That's what makes us so crucial for a society, this variance in our IQ is very benefitial for the society as a whole.

So yes, men are really the most important gender in a society. They drive change and development. Women move along with it.

Like others already pointed out, the deviation is higher in men. Men are not smarter, but the nature tries to guarantee that at least one of the parents is near average intelligence. That said, it also explains why men dominate both ends of the scale -- Execs, scientists, athletes as well as homeless, jobless, etc. Feminism is fixing the high end by forcing less intelligent women to those positions but doesn't care about the low end.

Yes, but the standard deviation for men is higher than that for women. This means that there are more "outliers" on either side of the mean for men, whereas women tend to be more centered around the mean. So, your post doesn't tell the whole story.

I'm on board for red pill, but I'm uncomfortable with the IQ arguments. I studied electrical engineering in uni and that exposed me to many of the same problems that people who take IQ tests are asked to solve. It doesn't make me any more intelligent than the next dude...
