His wants and needs, his dreams, weren’t something she was even conscious of, except to the extent that his dreams were part of her fantasy of him. He wasn’t really a human being at all, in her view.

Many women really view men as horses, and they are the riders. High-strung, maybe beautiful horses yes, but in the end, just animals to help them achieve their goals.

Yup. My girlfriend keeps mentioning how she really wants to take our relationship to the "next level" even though she's the closest relationship I have in my life. From what I gathered it means her moving in or us getting married I'm like, "I'm happy where we are, things are going great. Yesterday was great, today is great, I'm looking forward to tomorrow." She gets really upset about it, she manufactures unhappiness because our life isn't going perfectly according to the plan drilled in to her by society, and then tries to suck me into this whirlpool of sadness from unmet vague expectations. I'm sure she would explode if I were to explain that I probably never want her to move in and definitely never want to marry anyone under these types of marriage laws.

Shit, I don't even know what I want to eat for breakfast tomorrow, let alone plan out my whole life ahead of time.

As I think about it more, I think it might have something to do with the fact that women are inherently more adverse to taking risks, so they desperately need some kind of structure to get by. Any thoughts?

I don't think that's entirely true! When I was growing up, my anesthetizing diet of TV, movies and shit advice made me believe that all girls, since they were 6, were planning their weddings and how they would eventually devote their lives to some guy. Apparently, it was not uncommon for girls to wonder wistfully about what their new name would be!

It's only now after waking up and smelling the carcass that this isn't how girls are. Marriage is a get-out-of-life clause! Single mother? Hitting the wall? STD? Marriage is the single best get out of life free card you can play if you choose your beta wisely!

When I think back to my years playing in function bands, most of the functions being weddings, the amount of fat, post-wall women marrying off to little twiglets was insurmountable.

A good looking young girl does not need marriage and kids! No more than an Alpha male does! The difference is, good looking young girls eventually turn into haggard old women; an alpha male does not!

So if you genuinely know a 20-something who is wistfully wondering about her wedding day and the kind of guy she marries, I'd wager she's probably worth at least dinner and a movie to coin the tired cliche! Hahaha

Ah women and their role in society. As a child she wants to be a princess, but what is a princess without her prince? In her teens and later in her 20s she is in search for the right guy, for a date or to be his girlfriend. The next step is to be a fiancee followed by wife and mother. She's not loving the prince, she loves to be the princess. She's not loving her fiance, she's loving to be the fiancee.

Women never ran out of things to say about us men, their date, their boyfriend, their fiance, their husband, their lover. Women compare us, bad mouthing us (Feminism) or praise us to the skies.

OP, this has been her "natural" progression from a baby doll, to kitty cat, to conquering her high school boyfriend...etc. This is what she's dreamed of her entire life. This is why she went to college - not to get educated for her future career, but to find Mr. Right.

Meanwhile, Mr. Right IS in college to get educated for a career, but she want's that damn baby NOW...and she finds a way to get it (even if it costs him his dream). Mr. Right never gets his shot at his dream career because he's a daddy now. Or, she waits until he's out of school and standing on the first couple rungs of his career-ladder. One way or another, she finds a way to get her baby before he achieves his dreams and somehow, she finds a way to appear supportive the whole godamn time.

She got exactly what she wanted and now she shifts into mommy-mode. She gets fat, cuts her hair nice and short, and all of her little bedroom extras fizzle away. Then, the sex stops completely. He cheats, they divorce. This...All before she turns 30 (the age she should have waited to get married and have kids).

I've met heaps of women online, and dated some who I could very easily tell we're looking for a formula, a particular image and style of man. Forget the connection and fun we had, none of it meant anything because I didn't fit their logical ideal. They want someone to fit into their "partner" peg hole. Sad part is they're missing out!

This is all so sad. Such a blanket statement. Why is everyone here so jaded? This is not how most women think. This is how society says women think. It's great for business. All women are not the same. I'm getting the feeling that everyone in this sub has a distorted view and a disconnect of women in general. Women are not objects and they do not objectify men.
