As someone who's grown up in the evangelical church, I think by and large the way Americans interpret and live the Bible results in beta behavior.

Beta.

The Abrahamic religions developed in a time and culture where appeasing beta men and suppressing alphas was paramount to their survival. They needed a large population of cooperative and productive men to survive. Women selecting for genetics and aggression (alpha) rather than commitment and resources (beta) was counterproductive to this goal. These men would not do the backbreaking work necessary for the tribe’s survival or take up arms to prevent a rival tribe from carrying off the women if they were not personally invested in the success of the community. The best way to ensure that the labor of this majority of men could be leveraged for the community was to ensure as many men as possible had families to work and fight for. Hence the Old Testament’s harsh rules against adultery, the strength of marriage, “thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife”, rules against stealing from or fighting with other members of the tribe. They’re all intended to make sure the majority of (beta) men were working for the good of the group.

We evolved in a time when one man reproduced for every 17 women. But building civilizations required large percentages of motivated and invested men. That’s why almost every civilization has been patriarchal, to suppress the selective criteria of women that were counterproductive to the unnatural circumstances of civilization. Religion is one of the earliest tools to achieve this.

Been in church my entire life and modern American Christianity is very feminized. This is well known and is why a lot of men get sick of church. My own branch of Protestant Reformationalism is more sexist and masculine but the vast majority are feelings-based and flimsy. So there you have it.

church is social control so YES it does influence people, even their personality. Usually churches produce worst type of beta males because they don't fully internalize its principles just learn some behaviors to appear as peaceful people. It's supposed they should be able to be true alpha, by true I mean an alpha male who leads based on his character not just in a sexual way

As someone who’s grown up in the church, I’d like to weight in

In short, it produces betas.

Growing up in the churchosphere, at least for a 90-00s childhood, it was nothing but helicopter parents and teachers, and a very controlled environment. Veggietales and Disney, and an extreme priority was placed on solving things using your words and eventually it devolved further into people basically trying to instill a fear of conflict in people.

Basically all the guys at the church I go to are beta. Still as awkward as middle schoolers, still doing nothing but video games and skateboarding, and due to dogmatic gender separation in k-12 upbringing, they never really learned anything about the opposite sex and the dark stuff behind why they seem unpredictable and why they keep getting treated like garbage.

The closest thing to an alpha in the church is a tall beta male. That’s it. Some boys fake it, they get their lifted trucks and try to be county boys and think they can fake it till they make it, like being a redneck is somehow being alpha. And somehow the church has no problem being associated with that crowd.

The church has its own toxic culture, where people are all still mentally children, and where nobody really learns how to deal with real world problems because they’re always going to be bailed out by their parents and the church and constantly reassured they did nothing wrong and that it’ll work itself out or something. Actually to be fair there’s multiple church cultures depending on what part of the country/world you’re in.

I go to a megachurch in Southern California, so there’s a larger group to observe.

TLDR Sheltered kids results in beta males

It's pretty beta, RP Christians frequently go into this. But long story short, it's geared towards women.

Scripture wise, it's pretty Alpha Male, but it gets lost in the message.

That being said, TRP is a sexual strategy. The Bible's sexual strategy is "be a good man, provide, and a woman who takes care of the home will be given to you". Today's society doesn't function like that so a "Biblical Man" doesn't really fit into todays SMP

Despite all the language on the surface to the contrary, as practiced it is quite feminist and produces meek, submissive men and women running the show. Writings by some well known evangelicals like Glenn Stanton of Focus on the Family indicate a rather pronounced fetish for being dominated by females, and this has made its way into evangelical culture.

If we look at Jesus he was far from a beta, he managed to get 12 men to leave their professions and join him in his beliefs. He was highly opinionated and was willing to push back against what he felt was wrong. He was agressive when he found out people were selling things in the temple of God. He was called the lion of Judah. Now whether you believe he existed or is the son of God. But we can't deny that the scripture potrays him as an entity that people wanted to follow . Typically alpha male behavior. I think Christian's if they take this Buble verse seriously wouldn't be beta male.
