I think that depends on which male social matrix you’re talking about. There’s one for the constructed matrix (society) and one for the real (natural) world.

If you’re talking about the constructed matrix, you have to have a high title, like an Executive/CEO with a high pay-grade and the social skills to match. You have to be well-liked and respected by others and be able to display the status you have.

If you’re talking about the real (natural) world social matrix, you have to be taller and/or faster and/or stronger and/or more attractive and/or a better performer than the rest of the men around you.

Basically, you just have to be the winner.

all of those things will contribute to it, but it will vary depending on context and who else is in the social hierarchy.

the male social matrix isn't like the female version because when men form a cohesive, consistent group, there's usually some solid underlying purpose for it. and the guy who is best at helping the group achieve its goals will usually get the most respect.

so if you have a group of fratty Chad bros who like to go out and get pussy every weekend, being the guy who can always pull in hot easy girls will have a lot of juice.

or if you have a group of nerds who get together and play videya games every weekend, the guy who is a total badass gamer will usually be top dog.

Context driven- You can be the top at work but not so elsewhere, that type of thing.

Otherwise yes to most- Muscular, fit, stylish, carry yourself with confidence, have a good job & make good money, be charasmatic and most importantly respected by everyone. Lead with fitness and appearance, then don't be a retard when you speak, essentially.

You'll know you're there when people give you their undivided attention when you speak.

Many people are already saying that it takes individual context, since (like women), men are different from circle to circle and person to person.

I’ve found the most general trends to be this: Be fun, to the point that people want to listed to you, reasonable to the point that people trust your judgement, consistent to the point that everyone knows what you expect, and firm in your boundaries to the point that everyone knows it’s a waste of time trying to bend to their will.

Everything else depends on the goals and purposes of the individual group.

It really isn’t easy, because as others have said alpha is relative. In my office there are managers and executives you have to respect that would be awful at picking up women or getting girls. So I would say to be at the top you have to be strong everywhere and weak nowhere, but that doesn’t mean top 5% in anything

Example: you don’t need to have some glamour job that pays big. You do need a career that you enjoy that either puts you in the top 20% of income for your age ORis interesting enough to make up for its lack of pay

You don’t need to be body builder. You do need to be decently fit.

You don’t need to have a million friends. You do need a solid social life.

Etc. if you are well rounded and no major deficits then you will be near the top of most male social circles.

Will also add as you climb the ladder so does your competition. Growing up in the rural south my social circle was crap compared to what it is today, and I’m sure what it is today is crap if I was able to advance in other areas of life. The climb never ends. So you have to enjoy it and make sure you’re on the right ladder

I'll talk about my surreal 30 day high school experience, because it was the peak of my sexual life.

So i moved to a new high school, i was the new mysterious kid around. Everyone came talking to me to see whats up. None of them were very interested in me, but i clicked with a girl that was also new in school, and she invited me to her apartment to smoke weed (dunno why she lived alone) . She had called another guy but he flaked, so i was her back up. We fucked.

Word got around. Next feel days a couple chicks come talk to me offering me "friendship". I knew no one, so i said why not. Hanged around with them for a week, thinking i was being their beta friend. Then one of them invites me to a party at her place. I get there and suprise, there is no party. Its Just her, we fucked.

Word got around. Then in class other girls came to talk to me, one gorgeous blonde in particular. We clicked and she declared she was my girl. We walked around together kissing all day long during the next week. She was using me to make the other girls jealous. But i was into it because i had never gotten so much atention. I asked her to be my non exclusive GF, She agreed. We fucked.

Word was out. I was in. Social proof 1000%. One of the girls i befriended me called me to flake on class, we went to the mall, to help her find clothes. She asks me to see her try new clothes. While i waited outside she brought me in and made me grab her tits. So i decided that instead of being every girls little toy, i would play the game.

Now a few considerations. I'm not American, so i dont know how my story would fare in an American setting, but the same princple should apply. Also all those chicks in the story went for me with ease. That is high school Disneyland. Adult me has to put in the work. The older you are, the less chance women will pursue you. I was dealing with crazy teens, while i was a teen.

And in closure: Nothing similar ever happened to me again. And once i lost my social proof all those girls didnt even talk to me anymore. But that taught me the value of social proof

And are you talking about in the wild or in the modern world.

In the wild, to rise to the top you need a mix of great social skills and to be physically intimidating. People overrate how important being physically intimidating is. Even if you are the biggest, baddest bully on the block, you can still be stabbed to death in your sleep by a handful of angry beta males. Or they can shoot you with bows, or throw rocks at your head, etc. Just being a bully isn't enough to take over a tribe, because even the beta males are killers there. All these people who think being 'an alpha male' just means being a selfish bully don't realize that the wild animal kingdom is not your apartment. You can't just be a gigantic asshole and then sleep with a deadbolt on the door, knowing no one will retaliate due to fear of law enforcement. If you pulled that shit in the wild you'd be stabbed to death by your victims pretty quickly.

To truly rise to the top in the wild social matrix, you need competent social skills to build coalitions.

In modern society? It depends. Women throw themselves at wealthy celebrities. So if your goal is procreation, become a wealthy celebrity. Preferably a musician or leading man in movies.

Women like social capital. Wealth, fame, power, influence, reputation. If you have these things women will want you.

There is no single male social matrix. There are numerous contexts in which a man can be alpha (Doctor, CEO, General, President, fireman, athlete, rapper, drug dealer, comedian, e-sports). Very rarely do you see a complete man in all niche in the current social and in nature. The best thing you can do is to be the best version of yourself. Know and improve your strengths and work on your weaknesses.
